The Bachelor of Education (K-12 Teaching) is a unique dual sector teacher education course that offers two career pathways for graduates. It is an undergraduate teacher education qualification that encompasses working in both Primary Schools and Secondary Schools.
Entry Requirements

A candidate shall:

(a) be qualified for admission (see
Admission Undergraduate and Postgraduate (Coursework) Rule
and
Admission Undergraduate and Postgraduate (Coursework) Procedures
);
and

(b) (i) have a minimum of three Band 5 and/or E3 HSC results, including one in English;
or

(ii) have completed at least a year (48 credit points) of discipline studies (non-Education units) in a higher education qualification;
or

(iii) have completed a NESA-approved alternative pathway;
and

(c) satisfy the School of their suitability for teaching through the satisfactory completion of the Personal Statement for Initial Teacher Education Course Entry;
and

(d)
comply with the University's
English Language Requirements for Courses in Education Accredited by the NSW Education Standards Authority.

Masters (Coursework)

Armidale
The Master of Professional Psychology provides selected psychology graduates with a fifth year of professional training in psychology.
Entry Requirements

A candidate shall:

(a) hold an AQF Level 8 four-year Bachelor honours in Psychology, or AQF level 7 three-year accredited sequence in Psychology plus an AQF Level 8 fourth year Bachelor honours or Graduate Diploma, Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC)-accredited sequence in Psychology within the last 10 years and be eligible for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) as a provisional psychologist. An exception to the 10-year rule may be made for currently registered psychologists who can demonstrate current compliance with the PsyBA CPD requirements seeking to gain a professional postgraduate qualification;

1. have done a National Police Certificate;

2. have done a Working with Children Check; and

3. have provisional registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.

Please Note
: You may submit your application for the Master of Professional Psychology without submitting your Working With Children Check, National Police Certificate or evidence of Provisional Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia. However, should you be offered a place on the program the offer will be made on the condition that you submit each of these documents prior to the commencement of the program in Trimester 1. The Working with Children Check should be carried out according to the procedures of the state in which you are planning to conduct your clinical placement.

Selection procedures will include consideration of:

1. the applicant's academic record;

2. referee reports from at least two referees;

3. checking of original degree certificate; and

4. interviews for shortlisted candidates (face-to-face or via teleconferencing) by a panel comprising at least two members of academic staff of the Discipline of Psychology, both of whom have qualifications equivalent to those required for general registration as a psychologist.

Places in the Master of Professional Psychology are limited. Final offers are based on Interview performance, academic record and referee reports. Failure to receive an invitation to interview or offer of candidature in the program does not indicate a determination of lack of suitability for postgraduate professional psychology training but, instead, reflects the high standard of applications UNE receives each year.

Due to the high number of applications to our professional psychology programs, the University of New England does not provide individual feedback on applications or interview performance.

Graduate Diploma

The Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning is designed for students wanting an accredited qualification in financial planning.
Entry Requirements

A candidate shall:

(a) be an existing adviser* and hold a relevant** AQF Level 7 or higher qualification; or

(b) be an existing adviser* and hold a non-relevant** AQF 7 or higher qualification; or

(c) be an existing adviser*, and hold an AQF Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning from an Australian TAFE or Registered RTO
AND
have completed FASEA- recognised study*** to attain a professional designation; or

(d) be an existing adviser*, and hold an AQF Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning from an Australian TAFE or Registered RTO
OR
have completed FASEA-recognised study to attain a professional designation; or

(e) be an existing adviser*; or

(f) hold an AQF Level 7 or higher qualification and not be an existing adviser*, OR otherwise
be qualified for admission (see
Admission Undergraduate and Postgraduate (Coursework) Rule
and
Admission Undergraduate and Postgraduate (Coursework) Procedures
).

*An existing adviser is:

(a) a person who:

(i) is a relevant provider at any time between 1 January 2016 and 1 January 2019 (except a person who has ceased to be a relevant provider under subsection 1546B(4) or (5)) of the Corporations Act 2001 ; and

(ii) is not banned, disqualified or suspended under Division 8 of Part 7.6 on 1 January 2019; or

(b) a person who:

(i) at any time between 1 January 2016 and 1 January 2019, provides personal advice in a foreign country to retail clients in relation to relevant financial products; and

(ii) is not prohibited under the law of the foreign country from providing such advice on 1 January 2019.

Existing advisers shall submit their ASIC Financial Advisor number for vertification; applicants who are NOT existing Financial Advisors (rule (f) above) shall provide a Statement of Service for their work experience from their employer (on company letterhead).

**A relevant qualification is one in a related field of study containing at least 8 units (subjects) in one or more of the designated fields of study in any combination: financial planning (includes financial advice areas of superannuation, retirement, insurance, estate planning), investments (includes all types of investments eg shares, derivatives, foreign exchange, options etc.), accounting, taxation/tax law (as defined by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB), finance law, finance, business law (as defined by the TPB), estate law, banking and economics.

This course provides up-to-date knowledge of the rapidly changing field of media and communications.
Entry Requirements

1. Admission to candidature shall be determined by the Head of School on the recommendation of the Course Coordinator
.

2. Except as provided in Rule 3, a candidate for admission to the honours course shall:

(a) hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor of Arts or the Bachelor of Media and Communications from the University of New England;
and

(b) have attained a minimum grade point average of 5.0 (Credit);
and

(c) have achieved 18 credit points at Distinction level or better in 300-level units in their chosen area of study;
and

(d) have passed units to the value of at least 48 credit points in the subject in which the candidate wishes to proceed;
and

(e) have fulfilled any additional requirements prescribed and published by the School or area concerned.

3. With the approval of the Head of School on the recommendation of the course coordinator, a person who has fulfilled the requirements of an equivalent AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification of a university or other institution and who meets requirements considered by the School to be equivalent to those specified in Rule 2. (b), (c), (d) and (e), may be admitted to the honours course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Media and Communications with Honours.

Entry Requirements

A candidate shall be qualified for admission (see

(a) shall complete a satisfactory written personal statement assessed by the discipline within six months prior to the date of enrolment;

(c) shall have on admission to the degree a music theory standard equivalent to Grade 4 of the Australian Music Examinations Board demonstrated via music performance qualifications or the successful completion of a music theory test set by the Music Discipline Convenor.

Former or current UNE students may transfer into the Bachelor of Music on the basis of previous Music studies completed as part of a University of New England degree where they have:

(a) completed MUSI121 with a Credit grade or higher;
