University of New England (UNE) Courses

1. A candidate shall have:

(a) fulfilled the requirements for the AQF Level 7 Bachelor of Economics at the University of New England;

(b) completed units with an ECON and/or QM and/or GEPL prefix to the value of at least 24 credit points at 300 level;

(c) passed units with an ECON and/or QM and/or GEPL prefix to the value of at least 36 credit points at 200 level or above at Credit level or better;

2. fulfilled the requirements of an equivalent AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification and met requirements considered by the Head of School to be equivalent to those specified in Rule 1.

This course may not be undertaken concurrently with, or upon successful completion of UNE Bachelor of Training and Development.

A candidate shall provide a Statement of Service from their employer (on company letterhead); and

(a) hold an AQF Level 6 Advanced Diploma qualification in a relevant discipline* from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and at least three years' relevant work experience**;

(b) hold an AQF Level 5 Diploma qualification in a relevant discipline* from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and at least four years' relevant work experience**;

(c) have relevant professional development/training activities equivalent to 2400 hours (the applicant is required to provide either a letter from their employer confirming 2400 hours or a portfolio of evidence and a summary of face-to-face and private study hours) and at least five years' relevant work experience** which is deemed to be equivalent to Admission Rule (a) or (b).

*Relevant disciplines will include business, management or any other discipline approved by the course coordinator.

**Relevant work experience refers to a position of responsibility in any organisational or industry context.

Recommenced Studies: any two units of mathematics. For some units in the economics, finance and quantitative areas it is recommended that students have previously studied mathematics.

A candidate shall hold:

(a) an AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification in a discipline other than History; or

(b) an AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification with a major in History or relevant discipline*; or

(c) an AQF Level 8 Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Bachelor with Honours or AQF Level 9 Masters qualification in History or relevant discipline*.

*Relevant disciplines include:

Ancient History

Archaeology

English

A candidate shall hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor degree from a recognised university in a related field of study, for example, Urban and Regional Planning, Geography or Environmental Science.

(a)

fulfilled the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Agribusiness

the Bachelor of Business with a major in Agribusiness,

an equivalent AQF Level 7 award as determined by the school;

(b) completed units to the value of at least 36 credit points at 300 level in the discipline;

(c) passed units to the value of at least 36 credit points at 200 level or above with a GPA of 5 (Credit) or better in the discipline.

Candidates undertaking the Secondary Mathematics specialisation are required to enrol on a non-award basis in the unit

A candidate shall:

(a) hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor degree in a non-relevant discipline;

(b) hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline*.

Agricultural and Resource Economics;

Agribusiness;

Development Economics;

Economics;

Econometrics.

A candidate shall submit a Statement of Service for their work experience from their employer;

(a) hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification or above in a non-relevant discipline and at least two years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience*;

(b) hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification or above in a relevant discipline** and at least two years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience*;

(c) hold an AQF Level 6 Advanced Diploma in a relevant discipline** from an Australian TAFE or Registered Training Organisation and have at least four years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience*;

(d) hold an approved AQF Level 5 Diploma in a relevant discipline** from an Australian TAFE or Registered Training Organisation and have at least five years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience*;

(e) have at least six years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience*.
