Graduate Certificate

The Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Technology (PGCertMedTech) is specifically aimed at those just starting, or wishing to start, work as medical technologists in the fields of sleep, cardiology or respiratory medicine. The programme consists of two papers taken over one year of part-time study.

  2. Every applicant shall
    1. be a graduate or possess an appropriate health professional qualification requiring at least three years' tertiary level study;
    2. present evidence of ability for advanced level academic study.

Bachelor

Entry Requirements
  1. Every programme of study shall satisfy the requirements for prerequisites, corequisites, and restrictions set out in the Prescriptions (published in the Guide to Enrolment).
  2. A candidate with outstanding results in a subject prior to entering the University may be permitted by the Head of Department concerned to enrol for a paper at 200-level without having satisfied the normal prerequisites. In such cases the candidate shall not be credited with the prerequisite papers, but shall be exempted from including those papers in a Major Subject Requirement. A candidate may not, having passed any such paper at 200-level, enrol subsequently for any paper for which the exemption has been given.

Masters (Coursework)

The aim of the Master of Faith-Based Leadership and Management (MFBLM) is to enhance leadership and management in faith-based organisations, through the incorporation of current scholarship in both Theology and Business Administration.

  2. Every applicant must either
    1. be a graduate and normally have achieved an average of B in the 300-level papers of his or her degree programme, or
    2. have alternative qualifications or experience acceptable to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Humanities).

The discipline of general practice involves comprehensive, continuing, community-based medical care of individuals and families for a defined practice population. There is an emphasis on prevention of disease and the earliest possible identification and intervention.

  1. Admission to the programme shall be subject to the approval of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Health Sciences).
  2. Every applicant shall
    1. have been admitted to the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery of a university in New Zealand or hold an equivalent medical qualification approved by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Health Sciences), and
    2. have commenced or completed formal vocational training for general practice.
  3. Every applicant shall be registered for medical practice in either Australia or new Zealand or have an exemption from this requirement from the Board of Studies in Primary Health Care.

Masters (Coursework)

The Master of Sport Development and Management (MSpDM) is a 180-point coursework postgraduate degree designed for individuals who are employed in Sport Development and Management and want to upskill for professional development reasons.
Entry Requirements
  1. Admission shall be subject to the approval of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Sciences), on the advice of the Dean of School of Physical Education, Sport and Exercise Sciences and the Director of the Sport Development and Management programme.
  2. Every applicant shall either:
    1. have been admitted to the degree of Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Arts and Science, majoring in Sport Development and Management, and have achieved an average grade of at least B in the relevant 300-level papers, or
    2. have alternative qualifications acceptable to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Sciences).

  2. Every applicant shall:
    1. have a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification;
    2. be registered to teach in New Zealand, or have an equivalent teaching qualification or experience acceptable to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (humanities);
    3. have experience of or be currently working in a relevant field of education; and,
    4. present evidence of ability for advanced level academic study. Applicants must normally have achieved an average grade of at least B in the papers at the highest level in their qualifying programme.

  1. Admission to the programme shall be subject to the approval of the Convener of the Interdivisional Board of Studies in Higher Education.
  2. Every applicant must
    1. be a graduate with an average grade of at least B in the 300-level requirements for the degree; or
    2. hold a postgraduate qualification at an equivalent standard; or
    3. have alternative qualifications or experience acceptable to the Interdivisional Board of Studies; and
    4. normally be a tertiary teacher
