Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science with Honours (BMLSc(Hons))

The Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science with Honours (BMLSc(Hons)) degree is a four-year programme that includes a comprehensive grounding in health sciences and specialised training in the various laboratory testing disciplines, such as microbiology, biochemistry, and haematology.

Entry Requirements

Admission to the programme shall be determined by the Board of Studies for Medical Laboratory Science subject to the approval of the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Health Sciences),
To be considered for admission to the programme, applicants must have passed the Second Year and semester one of the Third Year of the degree of Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science, with a grade average of at least B+. Application for admission must be made no later than 1st March of the Third Year of the course.
Eligible applicants will be ranked, based on their Second Year and semester one Third Year averages and a written application. The top ranked applicants will be interviewed and, based on interview, offered admission to the programme. The number of students admitted to the Honours programme shall not exceed ten in any one year.

Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science (BPharmSc)

The Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science is a new 3-year degree and the only one of its type in Aotearoa, New Zealand. Pharmaceutical science includes a broad range of scientific disciplines critical to the discovery and development of new drugs and therapies.

This 12-month qualification will enable accounting and finance students to learn advanced financial and analytical skills.

Entry Requirements

Admission to the programme shall be subject to the approval of the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Commerce).
Every applicant must either
1. be a graduate with a Bachelor's degree majoring in Accounting with a second major or minor in Finance, and normally have achieved an average grade of B in the papers satisfying the final-year major subject requirements for the degree, or
2. have equivalent alternative qualifications or experience acceptable to the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Commerce).
In considering an applicant's qualifications, regard will be given to the detail of the course of study followed to gain the qualification, as well as the applicant's performance in the programme.

The Master of Archaeological Practice (MArchP) is an applied, professional qualification - linking theory with practice - that aims to develop our future leaders' knowledge and experience in archaeological heritage management.

Entry Requirements

Admission to the programme shall be subject to the approval of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Humanities).
Every applicant shall normally
1. be a graduate with an ordinary bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology or comparable major, and have an average grade of at least B in the 300-level papers for the degree, or
2. be a graduate with a Masters degree in a relevant discipline acceptable to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Humanities), or
3. have alternative qualifications or experience acceptable to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Humanities).

2. hold a relevant professional qualification requiring at least three years of full-time tertiary level study.
