A candidate shall:

(a) hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification;

(b) hold the 2015-2018 AQF Level 8 Graduate Diploma in Counselling from the University of New England;

(c) hold the 2019-onwards AQF Level 8 Graduate Diploma in Counselling from the University of New England;

(d) hold an AQF Level 8 Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma or AQF Level 9 Masters or AQF Level 10 Doctorate degree in any relevant* discipline;

(e) satisfy UNE by means of other relevant* professional experience by submitting a Statement of Service from your employer/s and a resume outlining a minimum of three years' full-time (or equivalent) relevant* professional experience and training undertaken in the past 10 years.

All applicants must meet the requirements for all Higher Degrees by Research as stated in the

1. Admission to candidature in the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Clinical Psychology) (PhD(ClinPsych)) may be approved by the Committee only when the Head of School has:

(a) certified that the necessary facilities and appropriate support for the applicant undertaking the proposed PhD program are available;
and

(b) norminated an appropriate Principal Supervisor and Co-supervisor(s) in accordance with Rule 5.

2. The Committee may, on the recommendation of the relevant Head of School, admited to candidature into the course for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Clinical Psychology) (PhD(ClinPsych)) an applicant who:

(a) has a degree of Bachelor with at least upper second class honours (AQF Level 8) accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council;
and

(b) has completed the first year of the Master of Psychology (Clinical) course work component at distinction level;
and

(c) has completed and had approved by the Committee a PhD research proposal.

Masters (Coursework)

The Master of Applied Theatre Studies provides students with a unique opportunity to study applied theatre and performance at a postgraduate level entirely via distance education. This is currently the only course of its nature in Australia.
Entry Requirements

A candidate shall:

1. (a) hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification with a major or equivalent in Theatre Studies and have 2 years' experience as a performer or director or designer or playwright or teacher;
or

(b) hold an AQF Level 8 Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Bachelor with Honours or AQF Level 9 Masters qualification in a relevant discipline*;
and

2. All applicants must submit a preliminary research proposal (approximately 500-800 words) which should:

(i) describe their proposed creative project for the Master of Applied Theatre Studies;

(ii) include a rationale for the choice of creative work in the context of the overall research project and explain why this is significant;
and

(iii) include a short reference list.

Applicants are advised to discuss this proposal with the course coordinator before submission.

The Master of Teaching (Primary) is a two-year graduate entry initial teacher education program for pre-service primary teachers.
Entry Requirements

A candidate shall:

(a)
hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor degree, or an AQF Level 7 Bachelor degree and an AQF Level 8 or 9 postgraduate qualification, with a GPA of at least 3.50 in which they have completed the equivalent of one full academic year or eight units of study in a discipline area or discipline areas relevant to one or more of the following Key Learning Areas KLAs):

English KLA

Communications, creative writing, English literature; language studies (English), linguistics, literature studies, media studies (ie the theoretical study of media or where the product is a literary text).

Mathematics KLA

Pure or applied mathematics; other studies of mathematics that are relevant to the central concepts, modes of enquiry and structure of the content/discipline(s) (only one unit of statistics may be counted); engineering units may be considered upon review of unit statements for appropriate mathematical content.

Science and Technology KLA

Agriculture; architecture; biology; bio-technology; chemistry; computing studies; design - interior, industrial, graphics, fashion, product, landscape (2 units only may be counted); design and technology; engineering/physics; geology, Earth and/or environmental science; materials science; medicine/nursing/biomedical science; psychology; or similar fields which include processes of inquiry, designing and producing.

Human Society and Its Environment KLA

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies, Aboriginal languages; anthropology and/or Sociology; archaeology; Asian or Pacific studies; economics/business studies; cultural studies; geography/environmental studies; government and citizenship; history; languages; legal studies; political science; studies of religion.

Creative and Practical Arts KLA

Dance including practical experience in choreography and performance in various dance styles appropriate for primary contexts; drama including experiential involvement in making and performing drama; music including performing (singing, playing and moving), listening and organising sound (composing) incorporating a range of repertoire and approaches; visual arts including art making and art history/theory; fine arts.

Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) KLA

Physical education studies; health studies; family studies; health promotion; human movement studies; nutrition education; sports science.

Applicants who are 12 credit points short of meeting the prerequisite for KLA discipline knowledge may be permitted to enrol in the relevant curriculum units provided they enrol concurrently in the appropriate prerequisite discipline unit or units. All prerequisites must be passed prior to or concurrently with Master of Teaching (Primary) candidature. Such prerequisite discipline units are in addition to the program of study in the Master of Teaching.
