Rural and remote sub-quotas An annual subquota is available for applicants from rural and remote areas. To be considered for the rural and remote subquota applicants must apply to SATAC in the normal way. Applicants must also, within 10 working days after submitting the SATAC application, submit a Statutory Declaration to SATAC which confirms that they have lived in non-metropolitan areas of Australia (Remoteness Classifications RA2 to RA5) for at least 5 consecutive years, or 10 years cumulatively, from birth (i.e. during any period of their life). Masters

Applicants must hold an approved undergraduate bachelor degree or equivalent qualification with topics that enable them to teach to Year 12 in at least one subject specialisation and to Year 10 in a second subject specialisation offered by the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work.

Specialisations normally offered are: English, Drama, Mathematics, Modern Languages (restricted to Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Indonesian, German and Modern Greek), Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Earth Sciences), Visual Arts, Health Education, Outdoor Education, Physical Education, History, Geography, Business Studies, Legal Studies, TESOL, Nutrition, Tourism and Psychology.

Not all teaching specialisations are offered every year. If your teaching area is Physical Education, you must apply for the Master of Teaching (Secondary) – Physical Education (2CM227) to be considered.

Note that in South Australia, to teach to Year 10, four undergraduate semester topics in the teaching area are needed; and to teach to Year 12, six undergraduate semester topics in the teaching area are needed. Not all of the above curriculum areas are taught throughout Years 8 to 12.

Masters

Applicants must normally hold an approved degree from an approved tertiary institution and typically have achieved a minimum of credit average. No specific undergraduate degree is required for admission.

Admission will be based on the highest GPA using a minimum of 18 units of a qualification from an approved tertiary institution.

Applicants are encouraged to research the career of an audiologist and health professional through making personal enquires and visits to clinical departments.
