To be considered for the rural and remote subquota applicants must apply to SATAC in the normal way. Applicants must also, within 10 working days after submitting the SATAC application, submit a Statutory Declaration to SATAC which confirms that they have lived in non-metropolitan areas of Australia (Remoteness Classifications RA2 to RA5) for at least 5 consecutive years, or 10 years cumulatively, from birth (i.e. during any period of their life). A Statutory Declaration form can be downloaded here. Applicants can check their eligibility in accordance with the definition above using the search tool at the Remoteness Area (RA) Locator site. Filter your search using the ASGS Remoteness Areas (2016) layer. Am I eligible? Northern Territory sub-quotas An annual subquota is available for applicants from the Northern Territory (NT). To be considered for the NT subquota applicants must apply to SATAC in the normal way. Applicants who gain entry in this degree through the subquota will be registered with the Flinders NT and required to travel and reside in the Northern Territory for their final year clinical placements. The Flinders NT will subsidise travel expenses up to the equivalent of an economy class one-way fare. Contact the Flinders NT at fnt.placements@flinders.edu.au for further details prior to application. Applicants must meet one or more of the following criteria to be eligible for consideration for a subquota place: must have their principal place of residence in the NT; or must have been resident in the NT for a minimum period of two years, within the last five years; or must be a recent graduate (within the last 5 years) or a current student of Charles Darwin University. Applicants must also, within 10 working days after submitting the SATAC application, submit a Statutory Declaration to SATAC which confirms that they meet the criteria for the NT subquota. This involves a short statement in response to three set questions used to demonstrate suitability for study and work in the teaching profession. Applicants who select this course as a preference during the application process will be directed to a page to meet this requirement. The test is a single, national instrument designed to assess elements of an individual’s literacy and numeracy skills and will be used to demonstrate that ITE graduates are in the top 30 per cent of the population for literacy and numeracy. All students commencing an ITE program after 1 January 2017 will be required to meet the benchmark prior to graduation. Applicants for the Master of Teaching (Special Education) (Primary R-7 Specialisation) must hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification with a major in one the following: English, Drama, Mathematics, Information Technology, Modern languages (restricted to Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Indonesian, German and Modern Greek), Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Earth Sciences), Visual Arts, Health Education, Physical Education, History, Geography.

Applicants for the Master of Teaching (Special Education) (Secondary Specialisation) must hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification with a major (preferably two) that enable them to teach to Year 12 in at least one of: English, Drama, Mathematics, Modern Languages (restricted to Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Indonesian, German and Modern Greek), Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Earth Sciences), Visual Arts, Health Education, Physical Education, History, Geography, Business Studies, Legal Studies and Psychology.

Not all teaching specialisations are offered every year. If your teaching area is Physical Education, you must apply for the Master of Teaching (Special Education) (Secondary) - Physical Education (SATAC code 2CM228) to be considered.

Note that in South Australia, to teach to Year 10, four undergraduate semester topics in the specialisation are needed; and to teach to Year 12, six undergraduate semester topics in the specialisation are needed. Not all of the above curriculum areas are taught throughout Years 8 to 12.

The Master of Teaching is a pre-service teaching degree and admission normally will not be granted to applicants who already hold a teaching qualification. Please note that different teaching courses may have additional entry requirements. Check the website for details. Selection is based on academic merit.

Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent from an approved tertiary institution. In addition, an application form and portfolio are required, including examples of creative work, for one or more of the positions in the creative team.

Masters

Applicants must hold an approved undergraduate bachelor degree or equivalent qualification. The Master of Teaching is a pre-service teaching degree and admission normally will not be granted to applicants who already hold a teaching qualification in the same area. Graduate Certificate

Applicants to the Graduate Certificate in Screen and Media Production must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution.

Graduate Diploma

Applicants to the Graduate Diploma in Screen and Media Production must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution.

Masters

Applicants to the Master of Screen and Media Production must normally hold an approved bachelor degree in any discipline. Applicants to the Master of Screen and Media Production (1.5 years) must normally hold an approved bachelor degree in screen and media, an honours degree in any discipline, or a Graduate Certificate in Screen and Media or a related discipline. Applicants to the Master of Screen and Media Production (1 year) must normally hold the Graduate Diploma in Screen and Media Production or an honours degree in screen and media production.

Applicants for the graduate certificate must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution.

Applicants must hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification and have achieved a Flinders equivalent grade point average (GPA) of credit (5.00) or above to be considered.

Applicants who did not achieve the minimum GPA in their completed approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification, can be considered on the basis of a second bachelor degree, graduate certificate, graduate diploma or masters degree of their choice, provided they have completed a minimum one semester full-time equivalent study in one of these courses and that Flinders equivalent GPA is 5.00 or above in this study.

Applicants must have also either completed the Bachelor of Health Sciences (Principles of Physiotherapy) at Flinders University OR have met topic pre-requisites by having completed:

• the equivalent of 9 units (0.25 years FTE) of study focusing on human physiology, including one dedicated topic of exercise physiology; and
• the equivalent of 9 units (0.25 years FTE) of human anatomy, including one dedicated topic of human musculoskeletal anatomy; and
• the equivalent of 4.5 units (0.125 years FTE) of study focusing on an understanding of the human and social environment and social perspectives in health such as psychology and sociology; and
• the equivalent of 4.5 units (0.125 years FTE) of study in research methods; and
• the equivalent of 4.5 units (0.125 years FTE) in communication skills with future clients and colleagues in health settings.

Due to limited places available, selection is based on meeting the above requirements and academic merit. Applicants who meet the above requirements will be ranked on their best Flinders equivalent GPA of 5.0 or above achieved over a minimum of one semester of full-time equivalent study in one course.

Applicants must also provide a completed pre-requisite self-assessment form as part of the application process.

Qualifications are not able to be pre-assessed and feedback can be provided once applications are submitted and considered through SATAC.

Applicants for the graduate certificate must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution.
