Charles Darwin University (CDU) Courses

Successful completion of a recognised Bachelor degree or equivalent international qualification with at least a credit average (GPA of 5.00).

You must contact CDU's Faculty of Arts and Society by email to fas@cdu.edu.au prior to submitting an application to discuss a potential project and supervision arrangements. Entry into the course will be subject to the availability of supervision, dependent on the research interests of the applicant.

Admission requirements are met by one of the following:

• Successful completion of the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (or equivalent) and the awarding of an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) of at least 60*.
• Successful completion of a national qualification at Certificate III level or higher.
• Successful completion of at least 0.5 year of full-time study (or equivalent) of a higher education degree/diploma.
• Overseas secondary or tertiary qualifications considered equivalent to the above Australian qualifications.
• Attainment of a STAT Multiple Choice score of 140.
• Successful completion of the Tertiary Enabling Program, the Preparation for Tertiary Success courses, or other recognised tertiary preparation course.
• Submission of an acceptable personal competencies statement and/or employment experience.
• Defence members with service of 1 year or more at the following ranks (or higher) meet the academic entry requirement for this course:
  • Navy: Seaman, Able Seaman, Leading Seaman
  • Air Force: Aircraftmen/Aircraftwoman, Leading Aircraftman/Aircraftwoman, Corporal
  • Army: Private, Lance Corporal, Corporal
• Current School Leaver Pathways:
  • Best of 3 Year 12 subject grades
  • School recommendation program

Successful completion of a recognised bachelor degree or equivalent international qualification in a science, biomedical science, environment, health or information technology discipline with at least a credit average (GPA of 5.00).

Students who do not meet the GPA requirement, but have a GPA of at least 4.0 will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Successful completion of a recognised bachelor degree, graduate certificate, graduate diploma, masters degree or equivalent international qualification in a relevant field.

Consideration will also be given to those who do not have one of the above qualifications, but who have at least five years relevant professional experience, for example in policy development, research, governance or service delivery. Applicants must provide further documentation in the form of a curriculum vitae (CV) with their application.

To gain entry into AUR32420 Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology, candidates require:

• To be an Apprentice who has entered a Training Contract with their employer and Australian Apprenticeship Support Network NT.
• Understanding of basic computer skills, to navigate online learning materials and assessments.

Students will also need to wear work clothing suited to the automotive industry such as:

• Steel cap boots
• Safety glasses
• Protective clothing
• Respirator

To gain entry into CHC50121 Diploma of early Childhood Education and Care, candidates are required to:

• Hold a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care OR CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
• AND work in a regulated Early Childhood Education and Care Service.

Everyone employed or volunteering in child-related work is required by law to hold an Ochre Card. It will therefore, be a mandatory requirement to hold an Ochre card in order to complete any work placement. If you have not yet obtained an Ochre card, please contact SAFENT:

Successful completion of a recognised bachelor degree, graduate diploma, masters degree, or equivalent international qualification. Applicants who have completed the Graduate Certificate in Accounting Studies are also eligible for entry.

Applicants who have previously completed an accounting degree within Australia are not eligible to apply.

• Successful completion of a national qualification at Certificate IV level or higher.
• Successful completion of at least 0.5 year of full-time study (or equivalent) of a higher education degree/diploma with a GPA of at least 3.
• Overseas secondary or tertiary qualifications considered equivalent to the above Australian qualifications.
• Attainment of a STAT Multiple Choice score of 147.
• Successful completion of the Tertiary Enabling Program, the Preparation for Tertiary Success courses, or other recognised tertiary preparation course of at least 12 months duration.
• Submission of an acceptable personal competencies statement and/or employment experience.

To gain entry into SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing as an Apprentice, candidates require:

• To be an Apprentice who has entered a Training Contract with their employer an Australian Apprenticeship Support Network NT

Students can undertake this course as non-Apprentices at the Alice Springs or Palmerston campuses, the fulltime course program is designed for applicants over the age of 21.
