Graduate Diploma

Note: This programme is covered by the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Amendment Order 2021. Students are required to provide details of their vaccination status on enrolment. The Postgraduate Diploma in Educational and Developmental Psychology is a one-year internship.
Entry Requirements

This programme is a selected entry programme. This means there are a number of extra requirements you must meet.

To enter the Postgraduate Diploma in Educational and Developmental Psychology (the internship) you will:

  • have a B+ average or above over a completed Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology or over a Postgraduate Certificate in Educational and Developmental Psychology (or equivalent)
  • have been awarded or qualified for least 60 credits of approved psychology courses including at least 45 credits at 200-level or higher
  • meet all requirements as set by the New Zealand Psychologists Board for registration as an Intern Educational Psychologist, and
  • meet the requirements as set by the New Zealand Psychologists Board, in terms of good character and fitness to be registered
  • have access to a suitable psychology practice context and professional supervision for the duration of the programme.

You will need to provide the following documents:

  • verified copies of all academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University
  • a copy of your current curriculum vitae (including education and employment for at least the last five years)
  • personal statement/cover letter
  • a completed New Zealand Police Request and Consent form, along with two pieces of verified identification (one of which must be photographic) from the list of acceptable forms of identification on the checklist (see below)
  • a copy of a police report from every country you have lived in for more than 12 months in the last 10 years - please do not supply originals.
  • contact details of two referees

Graduate Diploma

Note: This programme may have an on-campus or in-person requirement and therefore requires that students submit a current My Vaccine Pass on enrolment. The Graduate Diploma in Design is an opportunity for people who have already completed a degree to add an additional subject area to their learning.
Entry Requirements

This programme is a selected entry programme. This means there are a number of extra requirements you must meet.

To enter the Graduate Diploma in Design you will:

  • have been awarded or qualified for a bachelor's degree, or equivalent
  • demonstrated equivalent practical, professional and/or scholarly experience.

You will also need to provide the following:

  • a portfolio of work to show you are at the standard necessary to undertake work up to 300-level and beyond
  • verified copies of all academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University.

Graduate Diploma

The Postgraduate Diploma in Arts offers you a pathway for advanced studies in a subject area of your choice.
Entry Requirements

To enter the Postgraduate Diploma in Arts you will have been awarded or qualified for the Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in the intended postgraduate subject, or equivalent.

You will need to have achieved a grade average in your bachelor degree that demonstrates an adequate level of preparation for the postgraduate programme. This normally means that a B- grade average or above is required.

To enter the Postgraduate Diploma in Arts (Psychology) you will have been awarded or qualified for the Bachelor of Arts degree with a Psychology major, with at least a B- grade average in the 300-level Psychology courses, or equivalent.

You will need to provide verified copies of all academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University.

Graduate Certificate

This Graduate Certificate also helps you to update your knowledge and skills in an area similar to that in which you graduated (or work in).
Entry Requirements

To enter the Graduate Certificate in Science and Techology you will have:

  • been awarded or qualified for a relevant bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in the area you wish to study, or
  • accepted as having equivalent status to a university graduate on the basis of equivalent relevant professional experience.

You will also have a background adequate for the courses you wish to study.

You will need to provide verified copies of all academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University.

Note: This programme may have an on-campus or in-person requirement and therefore requires that students submit a current My Vaccine Pass on enrolment. The Master of Quality Systems is unique in New Zealand.
Entry Requirements

To enter the Master of Quality Systems you will have been awarded or qualified for:

  • a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum B grade average over the 300-level majoring courses plus two years' relevant professional experience, or
  • a bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum B grade average over the 300-level majoring courses plus five years' relevant professional experience, or
  • a relevant Postgraduate Diploma or equivalent with a minimum B grade average plus two years' relevant professional experience, or
  • a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum A- grade average over the 300-level majoring courses plus two years' relevant professional experience, or
  • a bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum A- grade average over the 300-level majoring courses plus five years' relevant professional experience.

If you have a relevant Postgraduate Diploma or bachelor's degree with an A- average and professional experience as outlined above, you may apply for credit towards Part One of the qualification in accordance with the limits specified in the Recognition of Prior Learning regulations. The programme of study must include 240.758 unless already passed.

Graduate Certificate

  • been awarded or qualified for a bachelor's degree (or equivalent), and
  • been awarded or qualified for a relevant professional qualification, and
  • have completed at least two years relevant professional experience.

You must provide verified copies of all academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University

You will also provide the following documents as part of the selection process:

  • a copy of your current curriculum vitae (including education and employment for at least the last five years)
  • a verified copy of your current practising certificate issued by the Education Council of Aotearoa New Zealand (if a registered teacher with a current full practising certificate)
  • a copy of a police report from every overseas country you have lived in for more 12 months in the last 10 years - please do not supply originals as these will need to be supplied to the Education Council at a later date.

If you are not a registered teacher you will also need to supply a completed New Zealand Police Request and Consent form, along with two pieces of verified identification (one of which must be photographic) from the list of acceptable forms of identification.

Masters (Coursework)

Manawatu
In the Master of International Development, you'll learn how global economic, social, political and environmental forces affect people and shape different parts of the world. These insights will allow you to recognise where inequalities lie.
Entry Requirements

To enter the Master of International Development you will have been awarded or qualified for:

  • a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Development Studies, or equivalent, with a minimum B average across the 200 and 300 level major courses, or
  • a bachelor's degree with a B average across the relevant 200 and 300 level courses and relevant field or industry experience of an appropriate kind and duration, or
  • a Postgraduate Diploma in International Development, or equivalent, with a B average.

If you have a Postgraduate Diploma in International Development as outlined above, you may apply for credit towards Part One of the qualification in accordance with the limits specified in the Recognition of Prior Learning regulations

Field experience includes:

  • voluntary work (eg refugee resettlement with Red Cross, or supporting a disadvantaged community group in New Zealand)
  • other relevant work or experience (eg a social worker, nurse or teacher in New Zealand or overseas)
  • specific development experience (eg an engineer who worked in Nepal).

In this instance you will need to provide your curriculum vitae outlining this experience.

Entry Requirements

To enter the Postgraduate Diploma in Quality Systems you will:

  • have been awarded or qualified for a university degree with a relevant major, or equivalent, with a B- grade average or higher over the qualifying 300-level courses and have completed at least two years of relevant professional experience, or
  • have been awarded or qualified for the Graduate Diploma in Quality Systems, or equivalent, with a B- grade average or higher, and completed at least two years of relevant professional experience, or
  • have demonstrated at least five years of relevant professional experience, including completion of appropriate professional qualifications or equivalent, via a portfolio, and an interview at the discretion of the University.
