The Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping will give you a range of accounting skills, including how to prepare financial reports, set up and operate a computerised accounting system, complete a BAS and establish and maintain a payroll system.
Entry Requirements

To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.

It is recommended that students have at least:
FNS30322 Certificate III in Accounts administration
VCE (ATAR) or Year 11 with good skills in Mathematics

The Certificate of English Language Teaching to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) prepares you to teach English in Australia or overseas. This is a University of Cambridge pre-service qualification delivered by Holmesglen.
Entry Requirements

Applicants must be at least 18, have an awareness of language and a competence in both written and spoken English that will enable them to do the course and prepare for teaching a range of levels.

Applicants must have the potential to develop the necessary skills to become effective teachers and to successfully complete written assignments and the assessment of practice teaching.

Please note - to be employed in Australia as an English as a Second Language teacher, you must have gained an undergraduate degree, at a minimum.

The Graduate Certificate in Teaching English as an Additional Language to Adults is a higher qualification for experienced (in-service) teachers and provides a pathway into English teaching work at TAFEs and other tertiary institutions.
Entry Requirements

To be eligible, students must be at least 18 years of age.

Bachelor Degree (AQF Level 7) or equivalent

Initial English language teaching qualification of no less than 100 contact hours with a content focus on English language, language learning and TESOL teaching and a practical component of at least 6 hours supervised and assessed teaching practice or equivalent.

Language equivalence of a minimum of IELTS 7.0.

Students should have the physical capacity to be able to successfully work within the field where they may be required to conduct their work typically within a beauty, waxing, brow or nail salon, while making sure they are in compliance with all Manual Handling WHS legislation

Work placement location cannot exceed a 35km radius from Holmesglen Chadstone campus

A valid WWCC, Police Check and full serology as per placement requirements

Trainees:

Entry Requirements

To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.

Prior to enrolment or commencement of this higher education program, you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment. This will assist with determining your suitability to the course, and identify any learning support needs.

Applicants with Recent Secondary Education (within the past two years)
This course uses the ATAR as part of its selection consideration.

An applicant may be admitted to the course after completing VCE with the following:

* Units 3 and 4 English Language with a study score of at least 20, OR English as an Additional Language (EAL) with a study score of at least 25.

For these three applicant types:

Applicants with Vocational Education and Training (VET) Study
Applicants with Work and Life experience

The following entry requirements apply:

Pathways into the course
Applicants who already hold a certificate, diploma or higher qualification in an IT field will be offered an admissions pathway into the Bachelor of Information Systems.

Advanced Standing will be considered for applicants who have:
been awarded an IT diploma or higher in the last 5 years
have more than 2 years' experience working in the IT industry.

Applicants seeking advanced standing need to apply to enrol. The Computing and IT Department will contact you to arrange an interview to review your Advanced Standing application. During the 30-minute interview, you will be asked to submit evidence of qualifications and/or work experience in the IT field.

The Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking was developed through extensive collaboration between education experts and leading professionals working in the finance and mortgage broking industry.
Entry Requirements

Learners must have VCE (ATAR) or equivalent; or mature age (at least 18 years of age and away from formal study for at least one year)

It is essential for students to have done work experience in any industry where they have completed business related documentation.

Applicants may have the FNS42015 Certificate IV in Banking Services, however this is not a pre-requisite.

Students are required to complete a literacy and numeracy test (BKSB) as part of their enrolment. The language, literacy and numeracy levels required for this course are based on the ACSF. They are:

* Language = 2 (working at level 3)
* Numeracy = 2 (working at level 3)

Students who do not achieve these levels may enrol in the course with support through the Institute's support services, such as Student Services for counselling and the Learning Skills Centre for language and literacy support.

Bachelor

The Bachelor of Sports Media has been designed to nurture students that aspire to work in the sports media industry. The course has four streams: sport, media, journalism, and communications.
Entry Requirements

To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.

Admission requirements for all applicants

Supplementary Application Form
All applicants are required to complete the Bachelor of Sports Media Supplementary Form. This form will be emailed to you.

Applicants are required to submit a completed Bachelor of Sports Media Business Supplementary Form at the interview if this has not been emailed prior to the interview. The Supplementary Application Form details the applicant's education history in addition to their higher education and career aspirations.

The supplementary form is complementary to the interview, and the ATAR score where applicable, in terms of assessing the applicant's suitability for the course.

Interview
All applicants are required to have an interview with an academic staff member with the intent to learn more about the qualification and the expectations of higher education study at Holmesglen.

This is also an opportunity for the student to display their enthusiasm and aptitude relative to both their education and their career aspirations.

Face-to-face interviews are preferred although teleconference interviews can be arranged as required. Interviews are approximately 30 minutes.

Applicants will be contacted by Holmesglen regarding their interview appointment.

All applicants are required to bring their completed Supplementary Application Form if this has not been emailed prior to the interview. Applicants who have completed previous qualifications are also required to bring with them the qualification certificate and the academic transcript.
