To eligible for admission to the Master of Environmental Engineering and Pollution Control, students must hold:

  • OR a Bachelor degree or Bachelor Honours degree in an environment-related field from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with at least two years full-time equivalent relevant work experience
  • OR a four year Bachelor degree or Bachelor Honours degree in Engineering from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing).

Students admitted to the program with a four year Bachelor degree or Bachelor Honours degree in Engineering will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing towards the program.

For those new to financial planning including career changers or non-degree holders, the Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning provides the foundation level of knowledge and skills required by modern financial advisors to start and progress their career.
Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning, a student must:

  • hold any Bachelor degree (or higher) from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale) OR
  • have a minimum of five years equivalent full-time professional work experience in a relevant field OR
  • have a combination of alternative admission criteria such as formal, informal and non-formal learning deemed to be equivalent to either of the above OR
  • meet the definition of an 'existing provider' as detailed in the Professional Standards legislation.

Admission to the Graduate Diploma of Clinical Physiology will require an approved bachelors degree in science in the clinical physiology discipline as described below.

The Graduate Diploma of Research Studies in Business provides an alternative route for entry into a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) program for applicants who do not possess the required qualifications for direct admission.
Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Diploma of Research Studies in Business, a student must:

  • hold an undergraduate degree in a related discipline from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum Grade Point Average of 5.0 (using a 7.0 scale) over the last two years of the Bachelor degree, OR
  • hold a Masters degree in a related discipline from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum Grade Point Average of 5.0 (using a 7.0 scale), OR
  • have completed the Graduate Certificate in Research Studies in Business with a minimum GPA of 5.0 (using a 7.0 point scale).

Students who successfully complete courses in the Graduate Certificate in Research Studies in Business with a minimum GPA of 5.0 without graduating will be able to transfer to the Graduate Diploma of Research Studies in Business (4160). Students who graduate with the Graduate Certificate and seek admission to the Graduate Diploma will be required to complete 60 credit points in order to successfully complete the Graduate Diploma.

The Program Director will take the following criteria into consideration when assessing applications for admission:

  • evidence of the willingness of an appropriately qualified staff member to serve as a research supervisor.

Applicants are required to find a suitable supervisor and have their research project approved. Students may find the Griffith Experts website a useful resource to this end. Students requiring assistance in finding a suitable supervisor and developing a research proposal should contact the Program Director.

For admission as a candidate, an applicant will:

  • hold a bachelor degree with first-class or second-class honours (Division A) or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution or
  • hold a masters degree from a recognised institution or equivalent qualification deemed by the Dean, Griffith Graduate Research School to be of a standard comparable at least to a bachelor degree with second class honours (Division A) or
  • possess a record of research or a qualification granted by a professional or other body, deemed by the Dean, Griffith Graduate Research School to be of a standard comparable at least to a bachelor degree with second-class honours (Division A)
  • have been enrolled in a research Masters degree at the University for not less than one year as a full-time candidate and two years as a part-time candidate and will have had their work as a research Masters candidate certified by the Dean to be of a standard required for candidature in a professional doctorate.

Students admitted to the Doctor of Musical Arts program will normally have at least five years professional experience.

A portfolio assessment and/or interview will be part of the admission process. If specialist equipment or computer programs are required, this must be stated within the application. In cases where the candidate does not meet all formal criteria, the Dean, Griffith Graduate Research School can establish equivalence on the basis of curriculum vitae, portfolio and publications.

As a condition of acceptance into the program, students are required to find a suitable supervisor and have their research project approved by the supervisor and Program Director. Students requiring assistance in finding a suitable supervisor should contact the appropriate School Advisor. The School Advisor will be responsible for assessing and recommending applications for admission into the program, approve plans for courses of study, and act as the nominated student contact for concerns and issues that arise. The Program Director will have final approval for admissions into the program.

This program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to undertake advanced study and supervised research work in the specialisation defined by their undergraduate degree program within the context of a multidisciplinary cohort.
Entry Requirements

The University's Bachelor Honours Degree (AQF Level 8) Policy will apply.

The criteria for admission to this Honours program are:

  • successful completion of the Griffith Bachelor of Pharmacology and Toxicology or an equivalent qualification from another university and
  • a GPA of at least 5.0 over the second and third year of the Bachelor degree.

The Program Director will take the following into consideration when assessing applications for admission:

  • the suitability of the proposed dissertation topic, the resources available to support the candidature and the availability of appropriate supervision and
  • the preparedness of the applicant to undertake the degree in terms of the elapsed time since the prospective candidate qualified for the award of a Bachelor degree and the academic preparation provided by the Bachelor degree for the candidate's proposed dissertation topic.
