Eligibility criteria

A candidate for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy must comply with the Higher Degree Research Regulations.

An applicant for admission to candidature for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy must have completed one of the following:

a. an appropriate undergraduate degree with Honours at a minimum level of Second Class Division A (Distinction average) or equivalent; or

b. a master's degree with appropriate research training in a relevant field; or

c. an equivalent qualification and/or demonstrated research experience, with evidence of capacity to undertake independent research work (eg an authored publication).

Meeting the eligibility requirements for admission is not in itself a guarantee of admission. The candidate's potential to undertake research, the quality and feasibility of the research proposal, the availability of appropriate supervision and the referee's reports will all be taken into consideration. The Master of Dietetic Practice is a 2-year full-time program. Dietetic Practice is the application of the science of food and nutrition across a range of domains to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals, communities, and populations.
Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites:

A. ACU's Bachelor of Nutrition Science which includes completion of the ACU units NUTR404 Advanced Culinary Nutrition Science and NUTR405 Foods for Special Diets, AND one of the following:

i. a grade point average (GPA) of at least 4.6 on the ACU 7 point scale; or

ii. evidence of relevant industry experience for at least one year post-Bachelor graduation.

ii. Human Biology and Human Physiology; and
