Massey's Master of Analytics will equip you with technical ability and competence in devising data-driven solutions. These are the skills needed to transform massive amounts of data into insights that enable better decision making and innovation both in the private and public sectors.
Entry Requirements

To enter the Master of Analytics you will:

  • have been awarded or qualified for a bachelor's degree in the subject in which you intend to specialise, or equivalent, with a minimum B grade average in the highest level courses
  • have sufficient background in statistical analysis tools to satisfy the Academic Board that you have the capacity to undertake the programme.

You will provide the following documents:

  • Verified copies of all academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University.
  • Provide a current CV showing all relevant work experience with statistical software.

Graduate Diploma

Note: This programme is covered by the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Amendment Order 2021. Students are required to provide details of their vaccination status on enrolment.

This programme is a selected entry programme. This means there are a number of extra requirements you must meet.

To enter the Postgraduate Diploma in Specialist Teaching you will have:

  • been awarded or qualified for a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent; and
  • been awarded or qualified for a relevant professional qualification; and
  • have completed at least two years of relevant professional experience.

Graduate Certificate

Once you have completed this qualification you may also have the opportunity of proceeding to the Postgraduate Diploma in International Security. However, it is also possible to enrol in the postgraduate diploma or master's degree directly.
Entry Requirements

To enter the Postgraduate Certificate in International Security you will:

  • have been awarded or qualified for a relevant bachelor's degree, or
  • have completed scholarly work in conjunction with extensive relevant professional experience.

The Certificate in Visual Arts is made up of four courses from the first year of our Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Design, Bachelor of Creative Media Production and Bachelor of Maori Visual Arts programmes.

Note: This programme may have an on-campus or in-person requirement and therefore requires that students submit a current My Vaccine Pass on enrolment. The Master of Fine Arts (MFA) has a strong collective philosophy.
Entry Requirements

This programme is a selected entry programme. This means there are a number of extra requirements you must meet.

To enter the Master of Fine Arts you will:

  • have been awarded or qualified for a Bachelor of Design with Honours or Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours (or equivalent) with a minimum B average, or

Have been awarded or qualified for a Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Arts or Postgraduate Diploma in Design (or equivalent) with a minimum B average, or

  • have been awarded a relevant Bachelor's degree with a minimum B average and demonstrated relevant industry or professional experience.

You will also need to:

  • take part in an interview
  • provide a portfolio of design work
  • provide verified copies of all academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University.

Graduate Diploma

Manawatu
In this postgraduate diploma, you will balance independent creative work in the studio with learning in Maori studies or museum studies. You will spend most of your time making art.
Entry Requirements

This programme is a selected entry programme. This means there are a number of extra requirements you must meet.

To enter the Postgraduate Diploma in Maori Visual Arts you will:

  • have been awarded or qualified for a Bachelor of Maori Visual Arts, or
  • have been awarded a relevant bachelor's degree and provide evidence of appropriate professional experience and duration, or
  • sufficient practical, professional and scholarly experience at an appropriate level.

You are required to provide a portfolio if you have not completed a Bachelor of Maori Visual Arts with Massey University.

You must also provide verified copies of all academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University.

In considering applications for admission to the Postgraduate Diploma in Maori Visual Arts, the University shall pay due regard to indigenous systems for the acquisition of knowledge and shall apply a fair, large and liberal interpretation to the concepts of 'scholarly experience' and 'academic work'.

Graduate Diploma

The Postgraduate Diploma in Information Sciences will give you in-depth knowledge and expertise in Computer Science, Information Technology or Software Engineering. Many students choose to complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Information Sciences without an endorsement.
Entry Requirements

To enter the Postgraduate Diploma in Information Sciences you will have:

  • been awarded or qualified for the Bachelor of Information Sciences or an equivalent qualification, having achieved a B- grade average or higher over the qualifying 300-level majoring courses; or
  • been awarded or qualified for a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification, having achieved a B- grade average or higher over the 300-level majoring courses, and have at least two years' relevant professional experience demonstrated via a portfolio, and an interview if required.

You will need to provide verified copies of:

  • all academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University
  • a CV and portfolio if applying on the basis of a Bachelor's degree and at least two years' relevant professional experience.

Graduate Diploma

Note: This programme may have an on-campus or in-person requirement and therefore requires that students submit a current My Vaccine Pass on enrolment. The programme offers combinations of courses leading to a graduate diploma.
Entry Requirements

To enter the Graduate Diploma in Logistics and Supply Management you will:

  • have been awarded or qualified for a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent, or
  • have completed at least four years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent.

Masters (Coursework)

The Master of Creative Writing (MCW) is a 180-credit programme that can follow on immediately from your bachelor's degree in any subject.
Entry Requirements

This programme is a selected entry programme. This means there are a number of extra requirements you must meet.

To enter the Master of Creative Writing you will:

  • have been awarded or qualified for a bachelor's degree with at least a B grade average across the 200 and 300-level specialisation courses, or
  • have a bachelor's with honours degree or a postgraduate diploma in arts in Creative Writing, Expressive Arts or English, with at least a B grade average for the qualification.

You will be selected into the programme on the basis of a process which includes providing:

  • a summary of your research interests: a brief (one to two paragraphs) outline of your proposed MCW thesis, summarising your proposed creative project (about 70% of the thesis) and proposed critical project (about 30% of the thesis). Please indicate the genre in which you would like to write your creative thesis in this outline. Critical projects usually take the form of a literary essay, a craft essay, or an exegesis
  • a portfolio of your creative writing (please refer below)
  • confirmation that your creative writing portfolio is your own personal work.

If you have a bachelor's with honours degree or postgraduate diploma in arts in Creative Writing, Expressive Arts or English as outlined above, you may apply for credit towards Part One of the qualification in accordance with the limits specified in the Recognition of Prior Learning regulations.

Entry Requirements

This programme is a 'selected entry' programme. This means as well as applying you will need to provide additional material as part of your application.

To enter the Bachelor of Nursing you will hold a current First Aid Certificate from an approved provider.

You will be selected into the programme on the basis of a process which includes providing:

  • a personal supporting statement of about 300 words explaining why you wish to enter the nursing programme and profession, including why you feel you would make a good nurse. List any personal characteristics you have that demonstrate your suitability.
  • a curriculum vitae of approximately three pages, which should include your academic and work history
  • provide details of two character referees - these must not be family or friends
  • if you are applying straight after completing secondary school (or a course at a private training establishment) you will supply a confidential report from your school or institution
  • complete the vetting service request and consent form for a New Zealand Police check - a criminal record check under the Criminal Records (Clean Slate) Act 2004
  • provide a current police certificate from any overseas countries you have lived in for 12 months or more in the last 10 years
  • complete the Health and Disability Declaration.
  • An interview may be required.

To become a registered nurse, you will also have requirements during and at the end of your study.
