The Certificate IV in Engineering - Fabrication and AutoCAD Pathway - is a post-trade course developed for existing engineering tradespeople or apprentices in an engineering trade choosing to study at a higher level during their apprenticeship.
Entry Requirements

To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.

While there is no qualification entry requirement, it is assumed the learner is either already a tradesperson with access to structured on- and off-the-job training.

It is recommended that applicants have completed Year 11 or equivalent, due to the literacy and numeracy requirements of engineering studies.

It is recommended that learners wanting to enrol in this qualification contact the Engineering department to discuss the entry requirements.

The Certificate III in Painting and Decorating will give you the practical skills to work as a residential or commercial painter or decorator.
Entry Requirements

To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.

Holmesglen requires all learners to be engaged in a painting and decorating apprenticeship. You must be signed up as an apprentice with your chosen employer and have an Epsilon number stating Holmesglen is your selected training provider.

There are no formal entry requirements but you should be from a non-English speaking background and over 18 years old.

Applicants are placed in the appropriate English course based on an interview and English language assessment.

The Certificate III in Printing provides comprehensive training for printing apprentices and covers all practical and theoretical aspects of the trade, such as publishing, newspapers, magazines and packaging.

As this is an apprenticeship, prior to enrolling or commencing training you will be required to have an Epsilon registration and signed
contract with an employer, as well as a signed training plan with Holmesglen.

The Certificate III in Commercial Cookery provides training to become a commercial cook or chef by undertaking a workplace apprenticeship, where training and assessment is delivered in industry by a qualified assessor.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.

You must be registered in an engineering apprenticeship arrangement with an employer in the metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries.

Holmesglen recommends all applicants have a minimum of Year 10 English and Mathematics.

As a requirement for this program, the learner must be engaged in an Engineering Apprenticeship within the metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries or other industries where Engineering Tradespersons - Fabrication work.

The Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start) is a pre-apprenticeship electrical course, providing an introduction to the electrical/electronics industries in areas such as electrical, renewable energy, air conditioning/refrigeration and instrumentation.

To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.

Holmesglen recommends learners have a minimum of Year 10 level English and Mathematics; Year 11 is highly recommended. This course is not recommended if you find mathematics at this level challenging.

The Certificate III in Electrical Fitting is the prerequisite for eligibility of the Energy Safe Victoria Electrical Fitter's Licence and provides the background knowledge and skills required for successful work in the electrical manufacturing industry.
Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements to this qualification, but as a requirement for this program, Holmesglen requires all learners to be engaged in an Electrical Fitting Apprenticeship. You must be signed up as an Apprentice with your chosen employer and have selected Holmesglen as your selected training provider.

In addition, learners must be at least 16 years of age when enrolling in the program. This requirement meets the minimum age requirements for training and working in the Electrotechnology field in Victoria, determined by Energy Safe Victoria (ESV).

It is recommended that applicants have completed Year 11 or equivalent, due to the literacy and numeracy requirements of electrical studies. Holmesglen recommends all applicants have a minimum of Year 10 English and Mathematics.
