Charles Darwin University (CDU) Courses

Those entering this qualification must be able to demonstrate vocational competence in their proposed training and assessing area. Vocational competence is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification. Individuals wanting to enroll in this qualification must have access to a Registered Training Organisation or simulated environment.

To gain entry into TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment candidates require:

• Computer skills to produce professional business documents.
• Access to a computer with system requirements as detailed for Learnline
• Access to individuals and groups requiring training.

Admission requirements are met by one of the following:

• Successful completion of the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (or equivalent) and the awarding of an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) of at least 60*.
• Successful completion of a national qualification at Certificate III level or higher.
• Successful completion of at least 0.5 year of full-time study (or equivalent) of a higher education degree/diploma.
• Overseas secondary or tertiary qualifications considered equivalent to the above Australian qualifications.
• Attainment of a STAT Multiple Choice score of 140.
• Successful completion of the Tertiary Enabling Program, the Preparation for Tertiary Success courses, or other recognised tertiary preparation course.
• Submission of an acceptable personal competencies statement and/or employment experience.
• Defence members with service of 1 year or more at the following ranks (or higher) meet the academic entry requirement for this course:
  ~Air Force: Aircraftman/Aircraftwoman, Corporal, Leading Aircraftman/Aircraftwoman
  ~Army: Corporal, Lance Corporal, Private
  ~Navy: Able Seaman, Leading Seaman, Seaman
• Current School Leaver Pathways:
  ~Best of 3 Year 12 subject grades
  ~School recommendation program

To gain entry into RII30820 Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations as an Apprentice, candidates require:

• To be an Apprentice who has entered a Training Contract with their employer and Australian Apprenticeship Support Network NT.

Students can also undertake this course as non-Apprentices.

Admission requirements are met by one of the following:

• Successful completion of the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (or equivalent) and the awarding of an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) of at least 70*.
• Successful completion of a national qualification at Certificate IV level or higher.
• Successful completion of at least 0.5 year of full-time study (or equivalent) of a higher education degree/diploma.
• Overseas secondary or tertiary qualifications considered equivalent to the above Australian qualifications.
• Attainment of a STAT Multiple Choice score of 147.
• Successful completion of the Tertiary Enabling Program, the Preparation for Tertiary Success courses, or other recognised tertiary preparation course of at least 12 months duration.
• Submission of an acceptable personal competencies statement and/or employment experience.

To gain entry into SHB50121 Diploma of Beauty Therapy, it is preferred that the candidate has completed:

• Year 12 or equivalent education and have completed SHB30115 Certificate III in Beauty Services
• Successful completion of a pre-enrolment Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment and interview is essential for success in this program
• Minimum IELTS 5.5 score for International students

No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

To gain entry into CHC50121 Diploma of early Childhood Education and Care, candidates are required to:

• Hold a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care OR CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
• AND work in a regulated Early Childhood Education and Care Service.

Everyone employed or volunteering in child-related work is required by law to hold an Ochre Card. It will therefore, be a mandatory requirement to hold an Ochre card in order to complete any work placement. If you have not yet obtained an Ochre card, please contact SAFENT:

Admission requirements are met by one of the following:

• Successful completion of the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (or equivalent) and the awarding of an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) of at least 80*.
• Successful completion of a national qualification at Diploma level or higher.
• Successful completion of at least 0.5 year of full-time study (or equivalent) of a higher education degree/diploma.
• Overseas secondary or tertiary qualifications considered equivalent to the above Australian qualifications.
• Attainment of a STAT Multiple Choice score of 157.
• Successful completion of the Tertiary Enabling Program, the Preparation for Tertiary Success courses or other recognised enabling course of at least 12 months duration.
• Submission of an acceptable personal competencies statement and/or employment experience.

To gain entry into SIT30622 Certificate III in Hospitality, candidates must:

• Be 15 years of age or above
• Be working in industry in Palmerston and Alice Springs local region with some industry experience
