You'll learn from expert tutors, plus a wide range of guest speakers, and you'll visit a range of travel and tourism-related operations. You'll also gain skills and knowledge in researching and evaluating travel and tourism products; planning itineraries; customer service and sales, team work, and essential workplace/industry practices, policies and legislation. These experiences will help you decide which roles or areas within travel or tourism you might wish to pursue. To meet Health and Safety requirements, applicants must be physically able to undertake the practical components of the programme in an industry emulated environment. </div>

<div>If you have a disability, this course provides you with a supported learning environment to help you transition from school to the workplace. You'll gain first-hand experience in cookery, baking, restaurant service and hospitality service. You'll also participate in practical activities like eating out and preparing a light meal, plus you'll learn about personal safety and basic hospitality terminology. Students must be physically able to participate in all kitchen activities and meet the demands of commercial hospitality environments. Dual Enrolment programmes are FREE if you're in Years 11, 12 or 13 and a great way to earn NCEA credits and get a feel for tertiary study, while you're still at school. Location: Christchurch</div>

Hospitality Supported Learning (Level 1)

<div>This programme looks in-depth at a wide range of retail-related areas, with a focus on strategic decision making around the resources used to develop and sustain a high performing retail business. Areas covered include ownership models, channel management, human capital, technology use and adoption, customer experience and merchandising. You'll learn how to critically evaluate management and marketing concepts in a range of retailing environments; identify and analyse opportunities for improvement; and create strategies for building and sustaining a retail enterprise. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to utilise all that you've learned during a 400 hour internship in a real-world retail environment. Part-time up to 10 years. Bachelor of Applied Management (Retail Management)

<div>This programme has been designed to ensure that when you graduate you'll have the knowledge and skills needed for this dynamic industry, and that you can be a flexible, future-focused, creative leader who can adapt to changing circumstances. Your studies will cover: hospitality and tourism trends; marketing strategies for local and international hospitality and tourism contexts; financial management strategies; business analysis for hospitality and tourism; communication; self-management; problem solving; teamwork and planning. In addition, you'll explore New Zealand's heritage and indigenous Maori culture, and gain an understanding of sustainability issues relating to tourism, such as its impact on the environment. You'll learn how to operate in a broad range of contexts and you'll examine the technology used in the industry (including the impact of social media on marketing, revenue management, customer relationships, and reputation management). Much of your study will take place in simulated tourism and hospitality environments using authentic situations. You'll also undertake a research project investigating a real-world hospitality workplace issue, and work experience within the sector. <div>The Master of Creative Practice is applicable to creatives such as musicians, dramatists, performing and visual artists, designers, film makers, writers, directors or any professional engaged in creative pursuits. If you're a graduate with experience working in the creative community and you'd like to become a leader in creative practice, this is the perfect way to establish your credentials in your chosen domain. The programme may also suit you if you don't have extensive experience but you've demonstrated academic and creative success at graduate or undergraduate level. The Master of Creative Practice is designed to engage you in understanding, investigation and intervention within your chosen domain in academic or professional contexts. It will give you the opportunity to critically reflect on your practice through theory, and to further develop the practice into a more substantial and fully-independent research-based thesis. You'll be enabled to extend your domain of creative practice through enacting an advanced, sustained and sophisticated body of independent original practice-based research, which conforms to internationally recognised standards. You'll also be equipped with the skills and knowledge to extend your domain of practice through the undertaking of independent original research. </div>

<div>The Postgraduate Diploma in Creative Practice has been designed for musicians, dramatists, performing and visual artists, designers, film makers, writers, directors and other professional creatives who wish to take their first foray into postgraduate study. It will enable you to advance your creative practice and develop knowledge and specialist skills, beyond those gained through your undergraduate degree. As a student of this programme you'll have the opportunity to use reflection on creative and critical theory to initiate and develop an area of interest into a supervised research project within a domain of practice. You'll also develop and apply advanced knowledge of theories and worldviews, including Te Ao Maori, in relation to a domain of research and creative practice. </div>
