    Develop a sound understanding of marketing in just one year, with the potential to open many doors for your career. The marketing role in a business is vital to convey value to potential and existing customers. And the role of a marketer is necessary to get that message to the intended audience.

    Entry Requirements

    For this programme, you will need the following:

    1. A recognised degree, a professional qualification in a relevant discipline or the ability to demonstrate competencies equivalent to the above
    2. If you're a graduate of Unitec's Bachelor of Business, you cannot be admitted to the Graduate Diploma in Business in the same specialisation in which you majored in the degree
    3. A minimum of 8 credits at NCEA Level 2 in English (4 in reading, 4 in writing)
    4. If English is your second language, you are required to have one or more of the following:

    • Have achieved NCEA Level 3 and New Zealand University entrance
    • Pearson Test of English (Academic): 50 with no score lower than 50
    • Be able to provide evidence you satisfy our criteria for existing English proficiency
    • Have achieved at least one English proficiency outcome in the last two years

    • Provide sufficient evidence to be eligible for special or discretionary admission; or
    • If you're seeking entry based on work experience, you will be required to demonstrate, in a written application, CV and attestation from suitable referees, that you have substantial professional experience in activities related to this programme, and/or be able to demonstrate equivalent competencies.

    This is an advanced accounting programme for accounting graduates working towards the academic requirements for professional body membership. It is relevant for students with overseas degrees in accounting wanting to get a New Zealand qualification and practical experience, and for those wishing to move into accounting from a related discipline.

    • A recognised bachelor's degree (or higher) in a relevant discipline with merit achievement deemed to be a grade average of B- or higher; Or
    • A professional qualification in a relevant discipline, recognised as being equivalent to merit achievement in a bachelor's degree or equivalent; Or
    • Provide sufficient evidence of aptitude or appropriate work or other life experience that would indicate a successful outcome in the qualification (only if you are 20 years or older)
    And meet one of the English entry requirements;
    • University Entrance Literacy: 8 credits at Level 2 or above in English or Maori (4 in Reading, 4 in Writing); or
    • Evidence of English language proficiency as outlined in the NZQA Rules on the Unitec English Language Requirements for International Students Web-page.

    Academic requirements

    You must have completed at least one of the following:

    • NCEA entry requirements with a minimum of 42 credits at NCEA Level 3 or higher on the National Qualifications Framework, with
    • 14 credits at Level 3 or higher in each of two subjects from an approved subject list,
    • 14 credits at Level 3 or higher taken from no more than two additional domains on the National Qualifications Framework,
    • 14 credits at Level 1 or higher in Mathematics or Pangarau on the National Qualifications Framework,
    • A minimum of 8 credits at Level 2 or higher in English or Te Reo Maori (a minimum of 4 credits must be in Reading and a minimum of 4 credits must be in Writing)
    • Successful completion of an approved qualification at Level 3 or above with a relevant pathway, where appropriate.
    • At least 3 'C' passes in the New Zealand University Bursaries Examinations.

    And meet one of the English entry requirements;

    • University Entrance Literacy: 8 credits at Level 2 or above in English or Maori (4 in Reading, 4 in Writing); or
    • Evidence of English language proficiency as outlined in the NZQA Rules on the Unitec English Language Requirements for International Students Web-page.

    International students Academic requirements

    Applicants must be at least 16 years of age when they begin their studies, and they should meet the country-specific admission requirement,

    And English entry requirements;

    If English is not your first language, you will also need at least one of the following qualifications:

    • An equivalent of IELTS (Academic) with minimum band scores of 6.0 with no individual band lower than 5.5 from one test taken in the preceding two years,; or
    • Evidence of English language proficiency as outlined in the NZQA Rules on the Unitec English Language Requirements for International Students Web-page.; or
    • University Entrance Literacy: 8 credits at Level 2 or above in English or Maori (4 in Reading, 4 in Writing); or
