About the scholarship
Bond University is committed to providing opportunities in tertiary education for Indigenous Australians.
In 2018, Bond University will be providing an Indigenous pathway into its Medical Program*. As part of this initiative, Bond University has developed one 50% scholarship for one Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander student commencing in the 2018 Medical Program*.
This opportunity means that the successful applicant of the 50% scholarship will incur no up front cost to study the Bond University Medical Program* providing they are eligible for FEE-HELP and ABSTUDY.
People that identify as being Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander and are expected to meet the academic entry requirements are encouraged to apply. See further details on how to apply below.
Availability
One Bond University Indigenous Medical Scholarship will be awarded to a student commencing in the Bond University Medical Program* in 2018.
Students that are not successful in obtaining the scholarship may still be offered a place in the program; however they will incur the usual tuition fees.

<li>meet the program prerequisites as per the Bond University Medical Program*</li>

In order to apply for the Bond University Indigenous Medical Scholarship, applicants must apply through QTAC identifying as an Indigenous applicant during the QTAC application period of 16 January, 2018 and 1 February, 2018. The Office of Admissions from Bond University will contact all applicants requesting a Confirmation of Aboriginality document. This document needs to be provided within 10 working days from the initial request from the Office of Admissions.

Bond University Indigenous Medical Scholarship

Overview
Students who successfully apply for the ANU-IARU Travel Grant will receive their payment in two installments. The first instalment of A$1,000 will be paid once the grant has been approved. The second instalment of A$500 will be paid upon receipt of the student's proof of completion and travel report.
Eligibility
To be eligible to receive the travel grant, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
<ul><li>be visiting an IARU partner institution</li>
<li>have completed at least one full year (full-time or equivalent) of tertiary study</li>
<li>have completed at least six months of study (full-time or equivalent) at ANU</li>
<li>be enrolled at ANU at the time of application</li>
<li>have a minimum average mark of 65 per cent (not applicable to research students or students enrolled in the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery)</li>
<li>either be receiving full credit toward their degree(s) as a result of the travel activity or stating clearly what they intend to accomplish in completing the study/research</li>
<li>be an enrolled undergraduate or graduate student at ANU for the duration of the period overseas</li>
</ul>PhD students may receive a maximum of two ANU-IARU Travel Grants during the course of their candidature. All other students may receive only one grant during their degree.
Recipients of the Vice-Chancellor's Travel Grant are not eligible to receive an ANU-IARU Travel Grant for the same study experience.
Students attending an IARU GSP course are not eligible to receive an ANU-IARU Travel Grant for this study experience.
Students attending an IARU partner for semester exchange are not eligible to receive an ANU-IARU Travel Grant for this study experience.
How to apply
Students intending to apply must complete the travel grant application form and submit it at least two weeks prior to travel and no more than three months prior. Approval will not be given for travel that has already commenced or has been completed.
The application must be:
<ul><li>accompanied by a one-page (maximum) statement outlining the purpose and objectives of the proposed visit</li>
<li>signed by the relevant academic staff indicated on the application form</li>
<li>accompanied by evidence of registration, if attending a conference</li>
<li>accompanied by written confirmation from the host university if engaging in a study program, which is
<ul><li>agreeing to the student's visit and explaining their status at the IARU partner university</li>
<li>providing information on supervisory arrangements (where applicable).</li>
</ul></li>
</ul>Further information
Within thirty days of completion of the travel, the student must submit their completed proof of completion and travel report form. PhD candidates must have this report signed by their supervisor.
The purpose of this report is to enable ANU to collate information on activities undertaken by ANU students at IARU partner universities and to assess the benefits of the travel grant to study and research.
Failure to submit the report within thirty days of completion of travel may result in the second instalment of the travel grant being withheld.
The report will still be required even if thirty days have elapsed.

ANU-IARU travel grant

Overview
The National University Scholarship aims reward academic excellence in secondary school studies by providing assistance with living costs and other expenses related to tertiary studies.
Eligibility
<ul><li>Applicants must be Australian or New Zealand citizens, or hold an Australian Permanent Residency Status or Permanent Humantarian Visa.</li>
<li>Completed Year 12 or equivalent in 2017 or completed Year 12 or equivalent in 2016 and did not enrol in a tertiary program in 2017.</li>
<li>Have put at least one ANU program as a first, second or third preference when applying for admission through the Universities Admissions Centre (NSW & ACT).</li>
</ul>You do not have to:
<ul><li>restrict your program choice</li>
<li>be interviewed for scholarship selection</li>
<li>send your Resume/CV.</li>
</ul>Selection basis
An Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) score of 99.90 and above or equivalent (no bonus points).
Benefits
The scholarships offer a stipend of $12,500 per annum paid in equal instalments at the beginning of each semester for up to 5 years.

No application is required. All eligible applicants with ANU as a first, second or third preference when applying through the Universities Admissions Centre (NSW & ACT) will be automatically considered.

National University Scholarship

Overview
The Australian National University is pleased to offer the Jan Morgan Scholarship to prospective students.
The objective of the award is to support women studying STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) at the undergraduate level.
Funding for this award has been provided by Jan Morgan. As a young ANU Masters student, Jan benefited from a scholarship which enabled her to study at ANU and live on campus at University House. Having built a successful career as an international change management consultant for civil engineering projects both in Australia and overseas, Jan is keen to encourage and support more women to undertake study and develop careers in STEM disciplines.
In creating this scholarship, Jan wishes to recognise and acknowledge the invaluable help given to her by the late Dr Thelma Hunter. Dr Thelma Hunter was a feminist political scientist, teacher, scholar and writer who spent most of her academic career at ANU.
Eligibility
The award is available to a prospective female ANU student who:

<li>is enrolling in first year of any undergraduate single or combined STEM program at ANU;</li>
<li>is from a financially disadvantaged background.</li>

Joseph & Lindsay Croft Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility
To be eligible for an RTP Stipend Scholarship – International, or VUIPRS, applicants must:
<ul><li>be a citizen of any country other than Australia or New Zealand</li>
<li>have completed at least four years of tertiary education studies at a high level of achievement; for example:</li>
</ul><ol><li class="rteindent1">a four-year undergraduate degree</li>
<li class="rteindent1">a three-year degree and an honours year</li>
<li class="rteindent1">a three-year degree and one year of a higher degree</li>
<li class="rteindent1">a three-year course and one year of a masters preliminary or other qualifying program</li>
<li class="rteindent1">a three-year degree and a postgraduate diploma</li>
</ol><ul><li>meet the University’s academic entrance requirements for enrolment into a research degree</li>
<li>meet the University’s English language proficiency requirements for enrolment in a research degree</li>
<li>be commencing a masters by research or doctoral degree</li>
<li>enrol as a full-time student.</li>
</ul>You are not eligible for an RTP Stipend Scholarship – International, or VUIPRS, if you are currently studying, or have recently studied, on an AIDAB or AUSAID scholarship and are applying for an IPRS immediately following the AIDAB/AUSAID funded studies.
Priority will be given to applicants who:
<ul><li>have not already obtained a PhD degree or equivalent if they are proposing to undertake another one</li>
<li>have already obtained a masters degree by research and are proposing to undertake another masters degree by research</li>
<li>have not previously held an IPRS, VUIPRS or OPRS (unless it was for a masters by research degree, and you are applying for an IPRS to undertake PhD studies).</li>
</ul>VUIPRS includes:
<ul><li>living allowance of $27,082 per year (2018 rate)</li>
<li>Overseas Students Health Care (OSHC).</li>
</ul>In addition, successful applicants will be awarded a 100% tuition fees scholarship, which provides a waiver of tuition fees for the duration of the course.
The scholarship does not cover other costs such as:
<ul><li>English-language testing</li>
<li>bridging programs or English-language programs</li>
<li>travel costs from overseas.</li>
</ul>

VU International Postgraduate Research Scholarship

Applications are accepted all year round and will remain current for 12 months. Applications will be considered in the next offer round after lodgement and if unsuccessful will be considered in the subsequent offer rounds for the year.

These scholarships are to encourage progression to&nbsp; Honours level, or a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) or Postgraduate study.

The USC Indigenous Scholarship was established in 2011 to support a new or continuing student wishing to pursue Postgraduate studies, an Honours undergraduate qualification or a Higher Degree by Research (HDR).

ELIGIBILITY:

<ul>
	<li>a&nbsp;commencing student (ie. existing students are not eligible)</li>
	<li>must have completed an undergraduate qualification in any discipline</li>
	<li>applicants will be considered ineligible if currently in receipt of another major USC or external scholarship (this does not include bursaries)</li>
</ul>

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Applicants will be assessed based on:

	<li>financial need</li>
	<li>demonstrated involvement within or for indigenous communities</li>

USC Indigenous Scholarship - Honours, Higher Degree by Research or Postgraduate

Overview

The scholarship is awarded to postgraduate students who are undertaking a Master by coursework or research or a PhD at one of nine participating world-class universities - which include ANU.&nbsp; In addition to demonstrating academic excellence in their own field of study, Westpac Future Leader Scholars will have the desire and potential to become leaders, inspire others and build collaborative networks across disciplines, and have the vision to contribute to the growth and prosperity of Australia.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship, you must:

<ul>
	<li>Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident (New Zealand citizens who are not also Australian citizens are not eligible to apply);</li>
	<li>Have completed an undergraduate degree within the last five years, or will complete in the year of application;</li>
	<li>Have achieved or are on track to achieve an average result of H1 or H2A (or equivalent);</li>
	<li>Have chosen to undertake a Master by coursework or research or a PhD at the ANU with demonstrated world-class capability in the proposed area of study;</li>
	<li>If undertaking a research program, the proposed area of research must be in a field of research with an Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) four-digit Field of Research (FOR) rating of 5.</li>
	<li>Commence study in the year following the year of application;</li>
	<li>Whose proposed program of study and post-study plan must contribute to the future of Australia in at least one of the Westpac Bicentennial Foundation's priority funding areas;
	<ul>
		<li>Technology and innovation</li>
		<li>Strengthening the ties between Australia and Asia</li>
		<li>Enabling positive social change;</li>
	</ul>
	</li>
	<li>Include international opportunities, such as a period of study at an overseas university, a presentation at a conference significant to the discipline, or an internship or placement at an overseas organisation which will develop your leadership skills and global networks; and</li>

	<li>Two references are required using the reference templates which are located on the Westpac Bicentennial website.&nbsp; The referees selected should be people who consent to be contacted by the Foundation:</li>

	<li>The second is a Personal Reference and needs to be completed by a person who can demonstrate that the applicant has the attributes of a Westpac Scholar.&nbsp; This can be a previous work colleague or manager, however, should not be a family member or a person who currently or previously reported directly to the applicant;</li>

Australian Federation of Graduate Women Fellowship

The Lady Anita Smith PhD Sponsorship will be available to students enrolled in a PhD program at the University of Adelaide undertaking research in aerospace related topics and meeting the following objectives of the Sir Ross and Sir Keith Smith Fund (“the Smith Fund”) : "advancement in the State of South Australia of the science of aeronautics and of education therein".

The purpose of The Lady Anita Smith Sponsorship is to provide funding for PhD students to travel overseas to a university, institute or company. The travel must benefit their PhD research project.&nbsp; Applicants must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents of Australia.

The holder of the Sponsorship must be enrolled as a full-time PhD candidate and must have successfully completed their CCSP before the intended travel date.&nbsp; Postgraduate students intending to go abroad for research purposes will need to make separate application for Study Leave. Vice-Chancellor's Excellence Scholarship

If you are undertaking a PhD program by research in the area of science, engineering or technology and have been awarded an RTP Stipend Scholarship (RSS) from RMIT, this scholarship can provide you with further financial assistance.

The scholarship provides $12,000 per annum for the standard duration of the RTP scholarship awarded to you.

Terms and conditions
The awarded applicant will need to meet the eligibility criteria for the duration of the scholarship. Those involved in the administration and selection processes for the scholarships will treat all information and documentation supplied as confidential.
The scholarship holder must immediately notify the School of Graduate Research in writing if they:
<ol><li>Cannot complete their postgraduate research as outlined in their successful application</li>
<li>Wish to amend their postgraduate study details as outlined in their successful application</li>
</ol>Selection criteria
<ul><li>The primary criteria for consideration is the capability of the researcher.</li>
<li>The submitted application for the RSS will be the major consideration for the selection committee, although interviews with applicants may be considered.</li>
<li>The selection committee will select the student who shows the highest probability of success in their field.</li>

Professor Robert & Josephine Shanks Scholarship

This grant is available to assist research candidates with travel costs associated with research-related activities that will enhance their thesis.

Research-related activities may include the following:

<ul>
	<li>presenting at a conference</li>
	<li>data collection, including conducting interviews in a field location</li>
	<li>travel to utilise equipment or resources not available at RMIT University</li>
	<li>access specialist archives, museums, libraries and galleries.</li>
</ul>

Value and duration

HDR candidates are able to receive up to $2000 during their candidature. This funding can be awarded as either:

<ul>
	<li>one travel grant, up to $2000 for a conference or research-related activity OR data collection, including conducting interviews in a field location</li>
	<li>two travel grants, up to $1000 each for a conference or research-related activity.</li>
</ul>

Eligibility and selection criteria

To be eligible to apply for, and receive, a HDR Travel Grant you must:

<ul>
	<li>be currently enrolled in an RMIT Higher Degrees by Research (HDR) program;</li>
	<li>have received a successful outcome for your Confirmation of Candidature*;</li>
	<li>have successfully completed your most recent milestone;</li>
	<li>not be identified as ‘at risk’; and</li>
	<li>not have submitted for examination.</li>
</ul>

You must ensure you have permission from your senior supervisor to undertake research related travel prior to submitting your application. If approved for a research travel grant, your travel must take place after receiving approval.

If applying to present at a conference, evidence of acceptance of your peer-reviewed conference papers, abstracts or posters must be submitted prior to your specified travel date.

Prior to travel dates, you are expected to:

<ul>
	<li>not have any overdue milestones*</li>
	<li>not be on a leave of absence.</li>
</ul>

* Please note that review and approval of your milestone presentations can take up to four to six weeks (no special consideration will be available for candidates who have applied for travel grants within the milestone approval process). You are responsible for checking your milestone status in myRMIT and following up with your HDR administrator regarding any milestones that are reflecting as overdue.

Additional requirements (if presenting at a conference):

If applying to conduct research related activities or fieldwork you must provide details of the research activities that will be pursued during this fieldwork. It must be relevant to your research, but does not have to lead directly to a research output such as a publication or conference paper.

You will be considered ineligible for the HDRTG if:

<ul>
	<li>you do not meet the criteria listed above</li>
	<li>you submit a late or incomplete application</li>
	<li>your application is deemed high risk of breaching Australian and/or International law</li>
	<li>you have JRE Cadetship funding available to you.</li>
</ul>

Closing dates

HDR Travel Grant applications are assessed on a monthly basis and close on the last day of each month.

It normally takes 4 weeks from each closing date for applications to be assessed and outcomes to be issued. We recommend that applications be submitted at least three months prior to travel to allow for these assessment timelines.

Terms and conditions

Successful recipients of the HDRTG must travel in accordance with&nbsp;RMIT Travel Policy.

If awarded this grant, you must:

<ul>
	<li>lodge your travel arrangements through your home school, via the&nbsp;RMIT Travel Portal</li>
	<li>ensure any travel bookings are made through the&nbsp;RMIT preferred travel suppliers, CT Connections or Voyager</li>
	<li>seek advice from RMIT International Compliance prior to undertaking any research related travel, if you are an international student</li>
	<li>ensure you comply withAustralian&nbsp;and the laws of the jurisdiction you are travelling to</li>
	<li>maintain regular contact with your supervisor while travelling</li>
	<li>submit a request in writing to your supervisor and School HDR administrator (copying in SGR at&nbsp;<a href="mailto:sgr.scholarships@rmit.edu.au">sgr.scholarships@rmit.edu.au</a>) if you wish to amend details of your approved travel.</li>
	<li>notify your supervisor and School HDR administrator (copying in SGR at&nbsp;<a href="mailto:sgr.scholarships@rmit.edu.au">sgr.scholarships@rmit.edu.au</a>) immediately if you can no longer undertake your approved travel.</li>
</ul>

Candidates who make travel plans outside of the terms and conditions cannot seek reimbursement from this travel grant.

Further information

Successful candidates will not be paid directly for the HDRTG. The School of Graduate Research will transfer approved funding to your home school, for use against your travel booking.

Submission of an application does not guarantee funding. If money provided by this grant does not cover the full cost of travel, you are encouraged to apply for additional funding support (e.g. enrolling school or conference organisers) where possible.

Travel to countries or regions where a&nbsp;<a href="http://www.smartraveller.gov.au/zw-cgi/view/Advice/" target="_blank">Department of Foreign Affairs</a>&nbsp;(DFAT) warning displays the following: ‘Reconsider your need to travel’ or ‘Do Not Travel’ will only be considered in exceptional circumstances and all applications that fall into this category will require prior approval from the Dean, School of Graduate Research, regardless of whether the country you are travelling to is your home country.

You should also be aware of any Australian sanctions laws applicable to the country or region you are travelling to. Contravention of sanctions laws carries significant penalties. Please see the&nbsp;<a href="http://www.smartraveller.gov.au/zw-cgi/view/Advice/" target="_blank">DFAT website</a>&nbsp;for further guidance.

The HDR Travel Grant cannot be transferred to another university.

Higher Degree by Research Travel Grant (HDRTG)

The Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship scheme is funded by the Australian Government and provides tuition fees to top quality international postgraduate students who wish to enrol in a research degree at Australian universities. This scheme replaces the International Postgraduate Research Scheme. The RTP Fee Offset and Stipend Scholarship is very competitive and awarded to approximately 30 students each year. Applications are assessed on academic merit and research potential. In addition to the RTP Fee Scholarship, the University of Sydney awards an RTP Stipend Scholarship to all International RTP Fee Scholarship recipients. This provides a stipend/living allowance.
Those under consideration for an RTP Fee Scholarship will automatically be considered for a University of Sydney International Scholarship, which also covers tuition fees and provides a stipend. Neither of these awards requires a separate application.Eligibility for the scholarship is based on a student's course application.

Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship and Stipend Scholarship (International - formerly IPRS)

The Australia Awards Leadership Program is supplementary to the Australia Awards Scholarship. It is offered to those who are identified as current and future leaders in their country and professional area. Award benefits

Australia Awards are offered for the minimum period necessary for recipients to complete the academic program specified by the institution, including any preparatory training.

The following benefits generally apply:

	<li>Full tuition fees.</li>
	<li>Return air travel - payment of single return, economy class airfare to and from Australia.</li>
	<li>Establishment allowance - a once only payment of A$5,000 as a contribution towards accommodation expenses, text books, study materials.</li>
	<li>Contribution to Living Expenses (CLE) - a fortnightly contribution to basic living expenses paid at a rate determined by DFAT.</li>
	<li>Introductory Academic Program (IAP) - a compulsory 4-6 week program prior to commencing formal academic studies, covering information on life and study in Australia.</li>
	<li>Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of the award (for award holder only) -provided to cover basic medical costs (with the exception of pre-existing conditions).</li>
	<li>Pre-course English (PCE) fees—if deemed necessary PCE may be available for students for in-country and/or in-Australia training.</li>
	<li>Supplementary Academic Support may be available to ensure a Scholar's academic success or enhance their academic experience.</li>

Award conditions

Applicants who want to accept an Australia Awards scholarship will need to sign a contract with the Commonwealth of Australia declaring that they will comply with the conditions of the scholarship.

Awardees are required to leave Australia for a minimum of two years after completing their scholarship. Failure to do so will result in the awardee incurring a debt for the total accrued cost of their scholarship.

Deakin recognises students with consistently high academic performance and the potential to make a leading contribution to the university and its communities. Unsuccessful applicants of the Deakin Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship will automatically be considered for the Deakin International Scholarship.

Your application
You are required to submit:
<ul><li>a completed Deakin International Scholarship Program application form</li>
<li>a personal statement (300 words)</li>
<li>a completed application to study at Deakin including academic transcripts.</li>
</ul>Your personal statement must be written by you and reflect your personal views. It should contain:
<ul><li>an outline of why you want to study at Deakin University</li>
<li>an overview of any extracurricular activities and work experience (paid or voluntary) you have undertaken</li>
<li>why you think you would make an outstanding ambassador for Deakin University</li>
<li>any other information that will assist your application.</li>
</ul>You may also be asked to attend an interview.

Deakin International Scholarship

The Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships are the Australian Government's competitive, merit-based scholarships and fellowships providing opportunities for Australians to undertake study, research or professional development overseas and for overseas citizens to do the same in Australia.
The Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships aim to build Australia's reputation for excellence in the provision of education and research, support the internationalisation of the Australian higher education and research sectors and offer high-achieving individuals from overseas and Australia opportunities to increase their productivity and expertise in their field.
The program provides opportunities for Australian postgraduate students, and postdoctoral researchers to undertake international research and professional development in an eligible country overseas. It also supports university staff, including general and administrative university staff to undertake professional development overseas under an Endeavour Executive Fellowship.
International applicants are supported to undertake a full Masters or PhD qualification, as well short-term research at your university. The program is an excellent opportunity for research schools to develop international research linkages.
