Entry Requirements

For entry into the MBA (International), students must meet the following criteria:

  • Completed undergraduate degree of an Australian higher education institution or the equivalent standard in any other institution; or
  • Completion of the Graduate Certificate of Business Studies at the University of Tasmania, or an equivalent qualifying Graduate Certificate#; or
  • Completion of an AQF Level 6 qualification and a minimum of three (3) years senior managerial experience.

#a qualifying Graduate Certificate is any Graduate Certificate from an Australian higher education institution, or the equivalent from any other institution.

International students must also provide one of the following:

  • UTASAccess Level 7 with a minimum overall score of 65% and no individual skill below 60%; or
  • an IELTS score with an overall Band of 6.5 and no band less than 6; or
  • a TOEFL (iBT) overall score of 88 (no individual skill must be lower than: Reading 16; Listening 16; Speaking 18; and, Writing 22) or
  • a PTE Academic overall score of 58 with no score lower than 50, or
  • provide evidence that you have studied for 2 years full-time with English as the sole medium of instruction and examination.

These tests must not be more than 24 months old.

Bachelor (Honours)

The Bachelor of Psychological Science and Bachelor of Laws with Honours is an on-campus 5-year full-time course offered by the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics and the School of Law and is available at Hobart. The first year only is also offered at the Launceston and Cradle Coast campus.

Graduate Entry Requirements

Students will commence study at year three or four of the program.

Direct Entry

  • Previous Tertiary study in 53J Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Tasmania with a passing GPA (4.0 on a 7 point scale).
  • Entry will occur in the fourth year of the program.

Competitive Entry

  • Holds a Bachelor degree in a cognate field that includes Exercise and Sports Science units as required for ESSA Exercise Science level accreditation
  • Requires evidence that they qualify for credentialing with ESSA at Exercise Science level to be assessed by the Course Coordinator.
  • Entry will occur in either the third or fourth year of the program.
Special Consideration

If your ability to access or participate in education has been affected by circumstances beyond your control, you can apply for special consideration as part of your application. We will consider a range of factors for special consideration, including economic hardship, a serious medical condition or disability.

We can only approve applications for special consideration where we are confident that you have the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in your studies. If your application is not approved, the admissions team will work with you to find the best alternative pathway to your chosen course. Special consideration is not available for international applicants.

Safety in Practice Compliance

All students enrolling in College of Health and Medicine programs which include a professional experience placement component, laboratory and/or field activity are required to establish and maintain their capacity to practice safely via Safety in Practice Requirements documentation.

Bachelor (Honours)

This course is offered in collaboration with participating healthcare agency partners on a full time basis. The course length is a minimum of one year of full-time study which includes clinical practice hours via employment in a Transition Program with a participating partner.

Applicants who have recently completed secondary education (in the past two years): This course does not use ATAR and equivalent ranks as part of the admission process.

Applications on the basis of work or life experience: Applicants must be an AHPRA Registered Nurse with no conditions or restrictions to practice, who is completing or has just completed (within the last three months) a Transition to Practice program.

Prerequisites: Nil.
