Australian university three year Bachelor degree in engineering science or engineering technology in the relevant specialisation area, or equivalent.
A minimum of five years' relevant professional work experience.
Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident; citizen of New Zealand or holder of a valid visa with a duration of at least three years.

There are two different admission requirement processes depending on whether you are applying for the qualifying Master of Counselling, or the Master of Counselling (Advanced Entry).
Pathway 1: Qualifying Master of Counselling
Completion of an Australian university 3-year bachelor degree, or equivalent, in any area.
Completion of at least 50% of the Graduate Diploma of Counselling at UniSQ, or equivalent qualification from another institution, and have a grade point average (GPA) of 4 or higher for the Capstone Project research option, and a GPA of 5 or higher for the Research Project option.
Participate in group reflection with members of School staff and other applicants.
Provide a report addressing the following selection criteria (informed by the PACFA Training Standards and UniSQ's inherent requirements). Write a statement of no more than 2 pages that addresses:
Studying for (or holding) a Graduate Diploma of Counselling (UniSQ) with evidence of GPA.
Applicants not currently enrolled in a UniSQ Graduate Diploma of Counselling must supply names and contact details of two referees (preferably including a professional report from an academic, a counsellor, a psychologist, a social worker, or similar professional).

Demonstrated life maturity.
Openness to receiving, considering, and integrating feedback.
Commitment to ethical, professional and trustworthy behaviour.
Commitment to engage fully in the process of counselling training.

Completed a 3-year bachelor degree, or equivalent, in a discipline other than education with a minimum GPA of 4.0 out of 7.0.
While not a requirement for admission, students need to pass the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE)prior to the final supervised professional experience placement and to graduate from this degree. Students can register for the LANTITE through the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). If an applicant has achieved a 'satisfactory' result for one or more components of the LANTITE at another institution, the 'satisfactory' result can be carried across with this admission application.
Non-academic entry requirements
Complete a questionnaire and provide written statements to address the key competencies of effective teachers. The criteria for selection includes capabilities such as motivation to teach, suitability for the teaching profession, learning activities and leadership responsibilities. Refer to the selection guidelines for initial teacher education courses.
