Graduate Certificate
The Postgraduate Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (PGCertCBT) provides you with professional practice in CBT to help support and improve the wellbeing of people with mental health and substance use problems. There is a steady increase in need for graduates with these skills in the mental health services in Aotearoa New Zealand and over the globe.
Study in this programme takes advantage of UC's long-standing clinical psychology training programme, and local industry contacts and research in this area. The training includes a focus on Maori and Pasifika cultural engagement and responsive practice.
Current work in a clinical health-related field is required to enrol. You will need to have access to CBT supervision for the field placements in this programme.
You will also need to have previously completed a bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related area, with a B- Grade Point Average in your 300-level courses.
All students will be approved to enrol by Te Kura Mahi a-Hirikapo | School of Psychology, Speech and Hearing and the Academic Dean of Science.
If English is your additional language, you are also required to meet UC's English language requirements.

A special application to enrol is required by 30 November, and places are limited to 24 students. Late applications may be considered subject to availability of placements.
