Entry requirements 2.0 year program

You must have a recognised bachelor degree (or higher qualification) in any discipline.

1.5 year program

You must have one of the following:

  • A recognised bachelor degree (or higher qualification) in health business or law; or
  • A recognised bachelor degree (or higher qualification) in any other discipline plus at least 3 years full-time (or equivalent) professional experience working in health middle management (or higher).
1 year program

You must have completed QUT's Graduate Diploma in Health Management within the last 7 years.

0.5 year program

You must have completed QUT's Graduate Diploma in Health Management within the last 7 years plus one of the following:

  • A recognised bachelor degree (or higher qualification) in health business or law; or
  • A recognised bachelor degree (or higher qualification) in any other discipline plus at least 3 years full-time (or equivalent) professional experience working in health middle management (or higher).
2 year program

A completed recognised bachelor degree (or higher)

with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4 (on QUT's 7 point scale)
in any discipline.

1.5 year program

A completed recognised bachelor degree (or higher award):

  • in health business or law with a minimum grade point average of 4.0 (on QUT's 7 point scale); or
  • in any other discipline with a minimum grade point average of 4.0 (on QUT's 7 point scale) and with at least 3 years (full-time or equivalent) experience working in health management at a middle to senior level. Middle to senior level experience is defined as experience in a supervisory or leadership role (e.g. with responsibility for decision making team work quality assurance and/or policy development.

Students applying on the basis of work experience must submit a detailed CV position details and employment statements

You do not need to apply for the 1.5 year program as you will be automatically assessed for eligibility as part of QUT's application for admission process.

You must have a completed recognised Australian biomedical health or medical science bachelor degree completed in 2014 or more recently with a minimum volume of learning of 1.50 year full-time (or equivalent).

Assumed knowledge

Before you start this course we assume you have sound knowledge of the degree subject areas listed below. If you don't have the degree subject knowledge you can still apply for the course but we strongly encourage you to undertake bridging studies to gain the knowledge:

  • Anatomy
  • Chemistry
  • Pathophysiology/disease processes
  • Physiology
  • Statistics.
English language proficiency

You must be able to speak write read and comprehend academic English to a specified standard.

Our English proficiency requirements for this course are:

  • IELTS (Academic): 7.0 or better overall with no subscore below 6.5
  • PTE: 65 or better overall with no subscore below 58
  • TOEFL (IBT): 98 or better overall with a writing subscore of 24 or better and other subscore below 20
  • Cambridge English Score: 185 or better overall with no subscore below 176

QTAC will notify you if you are required to demonstrate your English proficiency via an approved test. The test must have been completed within 2 years prior to the proposed course start month.

Selection ranks

You will be considered solely on the basis of the selection ranks from all of your prior degree studies plus any postgraduate studies you may have undertaken. Your other qualifications and experiences may be allocated selection ranks for entry to other QUT courses but will not be considered for this course.

Automatic advanced standing (credit)

If admitted to the graduate entry program you will automatically receive one and a half years of advanced standing which will entitle you to complete the degree in two and a half years (full-time).

Applications and new preferences received after this date will not be accepted.

You must have completed Australian bachelor's degree in medical science or heath science completed within 10 years of commencement at QUT with a grade point average of 4.0 or higher (on QUT's 7 point scale) with a minimum volume of learning of 1.50 year full-time (or equivalent).

Pathway
