Griffith University Courses

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Policy Analysis, a student must:

• hold any Bachelor degree (or higher) from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.5 (using a 7.0 scale) OR
• have a minimum of five years equivalent full-time professional work experience in a relevant field or with the public sector OR
• have a combination of alternative admission criteria such as formal, informal and non-formal learning deemed to be equivalent to either of the above.

All applicants seeking to undertake a Master of Infection Prevention and Control must hold:

• a Bachelor degree in a cognate discipline (health, medical, nursing or scientific) from a recognised higher education institution and a GPA of 4.0 and above
• OR a Graduate Certificate in Infection Prevention and Control from Griffith University.

To be eligible for an offer of admission made through Open Universities Australia (OUA) for a Commonwealth Supported Place at Griffith University, an applicant must:

• meet the criteria for a domestic Australian student; AND have one of the following:
• have completed at least two OUA undergraduate units with a minimum GPA of 4.0 completed within the last 12 months at the time of application for admission OR
• achieved a minimum ATAR/Rank of 65.00 through the completion of senior secondary studies OR
• achieved a minimum assessed Rank of 65.00 through the completion of studies in an accepted qualification

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Business Cyber Security, an applicant must:

• hold a Bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 point scale)
• OR have a minimum of five years equivalent full-time professional work experience in a relevant field.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Catchment Hydrology; a student must:

• hold any Bachelor degree (or higher) from a recognised University (or another tertiary institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale) OR
• have a minimum of two years equivalent full-time professional work experience in a relevant field.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Data Science, an applicant must:

• hold a Bachelor degree or Bachelor Honours degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or equivalent from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 point scale)
• OR have a minimum of five years equivalent full-time professional work experience in a relevant field.

Completion of this Graduate Certificate is a pathway into the Master of Information Technology (5612), where applicants may be eligible for 40 credit points of credit.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Applied Behaviour Analysis, applicants must have:

• completed a Bachelor degree in a related area with a GPA of at least 4.0 (using a 7 point scale) - examples include Speech Pathology, Psychology, Education, Human Services, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nutrition and Dietetics, Exercise Science and Medicine.
• OR completed the Graduate Certificate in Applied Behaviour Analysis (3363) with a GPA of at least 4.0 (using a 7 point scale) - students admitted via this pathway will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing for the courses completed in the Graduate Certificate.
• OR completed a suitable qualification (Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Bachelor Honours degree) in a related area with a GPA of at least 4.0 (using a 7 point scale) - examples include Speech Pathology, Psychology, Education, Autism Studies, Disability Studies, Human Services, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nutrition and Dietetics, Rehabilitation Counselling, Exercise Physiology and Medicine (students admitted with these qualifications may be eligible for up to 40 credit points of credit).

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Marketing, a student must:

• hold a related Bachelor degree (or higher) from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale), OR
• hold a Griffith Graduate Certificate in Marketing (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale). Students with a Griffith Graduate Certificate in Marketing will receive 40 credit points of advanced standing, OR
• have a combination of alternative admission criteria such as formal, informal and non-formal learning deemed to be equivalent to either of the above.

All applicants seeking to undertake a Graduate Certificate in Infection Prevention and Control must hold:

• a Bachelor degree in a cognate discipline (health, medical, nursing or scientific) from a recognised higher education institution.

The School of Nursing and Midwifery has instituted a Recognition of Prior Experience procedure for registered nurses who do not have an undergraduate qualification. Applicants will be assessed on their ability to demonstrate eligibility requirements. The School of Nursing and Midwifery will determine eligibility for admission into the requested program based on application, curriculum vitae and referee reports.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Diploma of Integrated Water Management, applicants must hold:

• a Bachelor degree in a field relevant to water management OR a Graduate Certificate in Integrated Water Management;
• a minimum of one year practical experience in a related field.

Students admitted to the program with a Graduate Certificate in Integrated Water Management will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing towards the program. Further credit in addition to that awarded on the basis of advanced standing is not available.

This Graduate Certificate will only be available to current serving members of an approved police service who will be nominated for admission by the police service. All applicants must:

• be officers employed in the approved police service and
• have satisfactorily completed initial training/Phase 1 proficiencies and assessments as required by the police service.
