Applicants must normally hold one of the following:

• a Flinders University Graduate Diploma in Engineering Science (specialisations C1-C3) with an average grade of credit (equivalent to a Flinders GPA ≥5)
• a Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering Technology or Bachelor of Engineering Science in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline with an average grade of credit (equivalent to a Flinders GPA ≥ 5)
• an equivalent overseas qualification including an average grade of credit (equivalent to a Flinders GPA ≥5).

Applicants without such qualifications should apply for the Graduate Diploma in Engineering Science or Master of Engineering Science (Civil).

Explore our pathways Additional entry requirements Applicants must complete a non-academic assessment task known as a Teaching Capabilities Statement as part of their application to demonstrate their motivation to teach, their strong interpersonal and communication skills, willingness to learn, resilience, self-efficacy, and strong organisational and planning skills. This involves a short statement in response to three set questions used to demonstrate suitability for study and work in the teaching profession. Applicants who select this course as a preference during the application process will be directed to a page to meet this requirement. Visit the Teaching Capabilities Statement page for further information Inherent requirements The Australian Government has recently introduced the Literacy and Numeracy Test for all initial teacher education (ITE) students to ensure they have the high level of personal literacy and numeracy skills required of teachers. The test is a single, national instrument designed to assess elements of an individual’s literacy and numeracy skills and will be used to demonstrate that ITE graduates are in the top 30 per cent of the population for literacy and numeracy. All students commencing an ITE program after 1 January 2017 will be required to meet the benchmark prior to graduation. Graduate Certificate

Applicants must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification. Applicants who hold the former Diploma of Applied Science (Developmental Disabilities) from Flinders University will also be considered.

Masters

Applicants to the Master of Disability Policy and Practice (1.5 years) must normally hold an approved bachelor degree in Disability or equivalent qualification; or hold an approved four-year bachelor degree in a discipline closely related to Disability and have a minimum of two years' full-time equivalent relevant professional work experience; or hold an Honours degree in Disability or a closely related discipline or equivalent qualification; or hold a Graduate Certificate in Disability Studies or in a closely related discipline from Flinders University or equivalent qualification.

Applicants to the Master of Disability Policy and Practice (2 years) must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in a disability-related discipline; or hold the Graduate Certificate in Disability Studies from Flinders University.

Graduate Certificate

Applicants for the Graduate Certificate in Education (Languages Education) must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution. In addition, applicants are normally required to have completed at least a minor sequence in any foreign language (including TESOL), consisting of four university-level topics covering first and second/third year levels undertaken over a minimum of two years of study, or have had at least one year’s teaching experience in any foreign language in a school or other approved institution.

Masters

Applicants must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution. In addition, applicants are normally required to have completed at least a minor sequence in any foreign language (including TESOL), consisting of four university-level topics covering first and second/third year levels undertaken over a minimum of two years of study, or have had at least one year’s teaching experience in any foreign language in a school or other approved institution.

Masters [1.5 years]

Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree in education, teaching or a closely related discipline. In addition, applicants are normally required to have completed at least a minor sequence in any foreign language (including TESOL), consisting of four university-level topics covering first and second/third year levels undertaken over a minimum of two years of study, or have had at least one year’s teaching experience in any foreign language in a school or other approved institution.

Graduate Certificate

Applicants to the graduate certificate program must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification in a health profession from an approved tertiary institution.

Graduate Diploma

Applicants to the graduate diploma must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification and must be registered nurses in Australia. Applicants who are registered as nurses in a country other than Australia must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification and may be admitted.

Masters

Applicants to the masters must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification and must be registered nurses in Australia. Applicants who are registered as nurses in a country other than Australia must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification and may be admitted.

Graduate Certificate

Applicants for the graduate certificate must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution.

Graduate Diploma

Applicants for the graduate diploma must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution.

Alternatively, applicants must have completed the Graduate Certificate in Maritime Archaeology from Flinders University.

Masters

Applicants must normally hold an approved bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) from an approved tertiary institution.

Masters (1.5 years)

Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in Archaeology; or hold an approved Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma (or equivalent qualification) in Archaeology (or a closely related discipline) from an approved tertiary institution; or hold an approved Honours degree in Archaeology (or a closely related discipline).

Applicants must normally hold a nursing degree or equivalent qualification, be registered nurses, and have a minimum of one year’s post-registration experience (six months of which must be in a relevant area).
