The test is a single, national instrument designed to assess elements of an individual’s literacy and numeracy skills and will be used to demonstrate that ITE graduates are in the top 30 per cent of the population for literacy and numeracy. All students commencing an ITE program after 1 January 2017 will be required to meet the benchmark prior to graduation. Graduate Certificate

Applicants must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification. Applicants who hold the former Diploma of Applied Science (Developmental Disabilities) from Flinders University will also be considered.

Masters

Applicants to the Master of Disability Policy and Practice (1.5 years) must normally hold an approved bachelor degree in Disability or equivalent qualification; or hold an approved four-year bachelor degree in a discipline closely related to Disability and have a minimum of two years' full-time equivalent relevant professional work experience; or hold an Honours degree in Disability or a closely related discipline or equivalent qualification; or hold a Graduate Certificate in Disability Studies or in a closely related discipline from Flinders University or equivalent qualification.

Applicants for the Graduate Certificate in Education (Languages Education) must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution. In addition, applicants are normally required to have completed at least a minor sequence in any foreign language (including TESOL), consisting of four university-level topics covering first and second/third year levels undertaken over a minimum of two years of study, or have had at least one year’s teaching experience in any foreign language in a school or other approved institution.
