Graduate Certificate

Applicants for the Graduate Certificate in Education (Higher Education) must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution. In addition, applicants must normally be employed in a teaching position in a higher education institution.

Masters 

Applicants must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution. In addition, applicants must normally be employed in a teaching position in a higher education institution.

Masters (1.5 Years)

Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree in education, teaching or a closely related discipline. In addition, applicants must normally be employed in a teaching position in a higher education institution.

Graduate Certificate

Applicants must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification. Applicants who hold the former Diploma of Applied Science (Developmental Disabilities) from Flinders University will also be considered.

Masters

Applicants to the Master of Disability Policy and Practice (1.5 years) must normally hold an approved bachelor degree in Disability or equivalent qualification; or hold an approved four-year bachelor degree in a discipline closely related to Disability and have a minimum of two years' full-time equivalent relevant professional work experience; or hold an Honours degree in Disability or a closely related discipline or equivalent qualification; or hold a Graduate Certificate in Disability Studies or in a closely related discipline from Flinders University or equivalent qualification.

Applicants to the Master of Disability Policy and Practice (2 years) must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in a disability-related discipline; or hold the Graduate Certificate in Disability Studies from Flinders University.

Additional entry requirements Applicants must also attend an audition involving participation in Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance Technique, Repertory and Improvisation. The Audition Panel, comprising lecturing staff of the Adelaide College of the Arts and Flinders University and a physiotherapist, will assess and score each student. This score will form part of the non-academic criteria for admission at both TAFE SA and Flinders University. Applicants will be mailed an audition pack by TAFE SA once an application has been submitted and will be contacted to book an audition time. For applicants using their SACE (Year 12) results (or equivalent), entry is subject to achieving a minimum selection rank of 60. Applicants who do not meet the University’s minimum entry requirements may still be considered for admission subject to meeting certain conditions. Applicants will start in the TAFE component and upon completing the equivalent of a Certificate III/Diploma (for example) will have their University offer confirmed. Graduate Certificate

Graduate Diploma

Applicants for the graduate diploma must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution.

Master of Arts (International Development)

For direct entry into the Master of Arts (International Development), applicants should hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification with a specialisation in a social sciences or humanities-related field.

Master of International Development

For direct entry into the Master of International Development, applicants must hold a recognised bachelor degree, with a GPA of 5.0 or higher, in a social sciences or humanities related field from an approved tertiary institution.

Applicants will qualify for either the 2-year or 1.5-year program. Applicants who hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification are eligible for the basic entry level, and will complete up to 72 units of study.

Applicants who hold a bachelor degree in education, teaching or a closely related discipline are eligible for the 1.5-year program, and will complete up to 54 units of study.

Graduate Certificate

Applicants must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution.

Graduate Diploma

Applicants must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution, or the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education, or equivalent.

Masters

Applicants for the Master of Clinical Education who do not hold the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education or the Graduate Diploma in Clinical Education must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution and have not less than two years’ work experience in a relevant clinical area.

Graduate Certificate

Applicants for the graduate certificate must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification in any relevant discipline of science or engineering from an approved tertiary institution.

Graduate Diploma

Applicants for the graduate diploma must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification in any relevant discipline of science or engineering from an approved tertiary institution.

Masters

Applicants for the masters must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification in any relevant discipline of science or engineering from an approved tertiary institution.

Graduate Certificate

Applicants for the Graduate Certificate in Archaeology must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution.

Graduate Diploma

Applicants for the Graduate Diploma in Archaeology and Heritage Management must normally hold an approved bachelor degree from an approved tertiary institution.

Masters

Applicants for the Master of Archaeology and Heritage Management will qualify for either the 2-year or 1.5-year program.

Applicants who hold: an approved bachelor degree in any discipline; an honours degree in any discipline; or a graduate certificate or graduate diploma in archaeology, heritage studies, or a related discipline, are eligible for the basic level entry, and will complete up to 72 units of study. Applicants who hold a bachelor degree or honours degree in archaeology, heritage management or a closely related discipline are eligible for the 1.5-year program, and will complete up to 54 units of study. Selection is based on academic merit with an above credit average required.

Graduate Certificate

Applicants for the graduate certificates must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution. Applicants for the Graduate Certificate in Aged Care Administration and Graduate Certificate in Health Administration must have at least two years’ professional experience in the health or aged care sector following completion of their approved degree or equivalent qualification. Applicants without a degree, who have extensive work experience in the health or aged care sectors and are able to supply documentary evidence, may also be accepted for entry.

Graduate Diploma

Applicants for the graduate diploma must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution. Applicants for the Graduate Diploma in Health Administration must have at least two years’ professional experience in the health or aged care sector following completion of their approved degree or equivalent qualification. Applicants without a degree, who have extensive work experience in the health or aged care sectors and are able to supply documentary evidence, may also be accepted for entry.

Masters

Applicants for the masters degrees must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution. Applicants for the Master of Health Administration and the Master of Science (Health Administration) must have at least four years’ professional experience in the health or aged care sector following completion of their approved degree or equivalent qualification. Graduates of the Flinders Graduate Certificate in Aged Care Administration, Graduate Certificate in Health Administration and Graduate Diploma in Health Administration may also be accepted for entry to the Master of Health Administration once they have gained at least four years’ professional experience.

In accordance with the Australian Nursing Midwifery Council Standards and Criteria for the accreditation of Nursing and Midwifery Courses, applicants must:

• hold a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent; and
• hold a postgraduate qualification in a specialist nursing field relevant to their advanced nursing practice; and
• have current registration as a nurse in Australia; and
• have a minimum of two years full-time equivalent (FTE) experience as a registered nurse in Australia in a specialist nursing field; and
• have a minimum two years FTE experience in Australia at an advanced practice level, as defined by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, in their relevant specialist nursing field within the last six years; and
• provide a completed and signed Supernumerary Integrated Professional Practice (SIPP) form (DOCX) as evidence of approval from an employing organisation to complete 300 hours of supernumerary professional practice and supervisor availability and suitability.   

*Advanced nursing practice (ANP): ANP is a continuum along which nurses develop their professional knowledge, clinical reasoning and judgement, skills and behaviours to higher levels of capability (that is recognisable). Nurses practising at an advanced level incorporate professional leadership, education and research into their clinically based practice. Their practice is effective and safe. They work within a generalist or specialist context and they are responsible and accountable in managing people who have complex health care requirements.

Advanced nursing practice is a level of practice and not a role. It is acknowledged that advanced nursing practice is specific to the individual within their context of practice.
