Evidence of sea time/service on board a vessel will be required to obtain a Marine Engine Driver (Motor) Grade 1 Certificate of Competency from AMSA. For information on all CoC requirements, please see their FACT sheets.
This certificate will allow you to work as: chief engineer on vessels with inboard engines with propulsion power up to 750 kilowatts within the exclusive economic zone (EEZ). second engineer on vessels with inboard engines with propulsion power up to 1500 kilowatts within the EEZ.
