    For this programme, you will need the following:

    1. A recognised degree, a professional qualification in a relevant discipline or the ability to demonstrate competencies equivalent to the above
    2. If you're a graduate of Unitec's Bachelor of Business, you cannot be admitted to the Graduate Diploma in Business in the same specialisation in which you majored in the degree
    3. A minimum of 8 credits at NCEA Level 2 in English (4 in reading, 4 in writing)
    4. If English is your second language, you are required to have one or more of the following:

    • Have achieved NCEA Level 3 and New Zealand University entrance
    • Pearson Test of English (Academic): 50 with no score lower than 50
    • Be able to provide evidence you satisfy our criteria for existing English proficiency
    • Have achieved at least one English proficiency outcome in the last two years

    • If you're seeking entry based on work experience, you will be required to demonstrate, in a written application, CV and attestation from suitable referees, that you have substantial professional experience in activities related to this programme, and/or be able to demonstrate equivalent competencies.

    Relevant work experience

    Relevant work experience may be paid or voluntary and includes work:

    • a demonstration of basic computer literacy, research and writing skills, and the ability to work collaboratively.

    Evidence of relevant work experience should include a letter from your employer (and/or previous employers) stating the following:

    • That you work (or worked) within the specified organisation
    • The nature of your work, including any relevant duties and responsibilities
    • The length of time that you worked there (i.e. 3 years)
    • Whether your employment was full-time, part-time* or casual*.

    *if you worked part-time or casual, please list the average number of hours worked per week.

    GPA equivalent

    Use the GPA equivalent as a guide. When you apply, we'll calculate your GPA using the UQ grading scale. Any failing grades will be included. Entry requirements are subject to change.

    International students who are accepted into full-time study in the Graduate Certificate in International Relations are eligible to apply for an Australian student visa (subclass 500).

    • A recognised bachelor degree plus graduate certificate both in advertising communication marketing or public relations with a minimum grade point average of 4.00 (on QUT's 7 point scale); or

    • A recognised graduate diploma (or higher) in advertising communication marketing or public relations with a minimum grade point average of 4.00 (on QUT's 7 point scale); or

    • A recognised bachelor degree in advertising communication marketing or public relations with a minimum grade point average of 4.00 (on QUT's 7 point scale) followed by at least seven years full-time (or equivalent) work experience in advertising communication marketing or public relations.

    Academic entry requirements

    As part of QUT's application for admission process you will be automatically assessed for the 1.5 year program. If you wish to be considered for the 2 year program only please indicate this on your application form.

    • A completed recognised bachelor degree in business or related field with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4.00 (on QUT's 7 point scale).
    • A completed recognised bachelor degree in marketing advertising mass communication public relations or journalism with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 (on QUT's 7 point scale).

    Master of Business - 2 year program

    • A completed recognised bachelor degree in any discipline with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4.00 (on QUT's 7 point scale).
    Pathway

    Graduate Certificate in Business and Communication: Applicants with an overall IELTS score of 6 (Reading and Writing no less than 5.5 and no other sub-score below 5) (or accepted equivalent) may be considered for the Graduate Certificate / Masters pathway.

    A Monash University Graduate Certificate of Marketing and Digital Communications with a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 60.
