Domestic studentsAcademic requirements
You must have completed at least one of the following:
A recognised bachelor's degree (or higher) in a relevant discipline with merit achievement deemed to be a grade average of B- or higher; or
A professional qualification in a relevant discipline, recognised as being equivalent to merit achievement in a bachelor's degree or equivalent; or
And meet one of the English entry requirements;
University Entrance Literacy: 8 credits at Level 2 or above in English or Maori (4 in Reading, 4 in Writing); or
Evidence of English language proficiency as outlined in the NZQA Rules on the Unitec English Language Requirements for International Students Web-page.
Non-Academic requirements
Provided sufficient evidence of aptitude or appropriate work or other life experience that would indicate a successful outcome in the qualification.

The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree programme enables each student to develop his or her own interests in business and related subjects.
Entry Requirements
Every programme of study shall satisfy the requirements for prerequisites, corequisites, and restrictions set out in the Prescriptions (published in the Guide to Enrolment).
A candidate with outstanding results in a subject prior to entering the University may be permitted by the Head of Department concerned to enrol for a paper at 200-level without having satisfied the normal prerequisites. In such cases the candidate shall not be credited with the prerequisite papers but shall be exempted from including those papers in a major subject requirement. A candidate may not, having passed any such paper at 200-level, enrol subsequently for any prerequisite paper from which the exemption has been given.

Entry Requirements
Prior to commencing this program an individual must have completed the following qualifications (or equivalent)
- FNS50222 Diploma of Accounting; or - its superseded version FNS50217 Diploma of Accounting; or - equivalent, provided the listed elective unit BSBTEC402 Design and produce complex spreadsheets (or equivalent) has been completed by those seeking to enrol.
The Statement of Attainment in Accounting Fundamentals is an introduction to accounting and bookkeeping. This course is delivered by industry skilled educators, including Registered BAS Agents.

It is recommended that applicants have experience using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets or complete the subject Design and produce spreadsheets BSBTEC302.
