    Holmesglen's Bachelor of Fashion Design is a cutting-edge course for those who aspire to a career in the fast-paced world of fashion.

    Entry Requirements

    To be eligible, students must be at least 17 years old at the start of the course and hold a minimum qualification of VCE/HSC or an equivalent for entry.

    All applicants are required to attend an interview and present a portfolio of recent design work that showcases a range of creative and technical skills. The interview and portfolio presentation will be conducted by experienced staff members at the Chadstone campus. The entire process generally takes no longer than 20 minutes. This serves as an opportunity to assess the applicants' skill level, interest, creativity, and ability to apply the design process at the undergraduate level.

    Applicants should meet the selection requirements of the relevant category as detailed below.

    Applicants with recent secondary education (within the past two years) should meet the following selection requirements

    - ATAR
    - Portfolio and interview

    Applicants with higher education study
    Applicants who have started or completed an award course at any Australian university are eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Fashion Design course.

    Applicants with Vocational Education and Training (VET) study
    Applicants who have successfully completed MST20616 Certificate II in Applied Fashion Design and Technology and/or MST40516 Certificate IV in Applied Fashion Design and Merchandising, or an equivalent qualification, are eligible for admission into the Bachelor of Fashion Design (BFD16) course without advanced standing.

    Applicants who have completed the MST50116 Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Merchandising and/or the MST60116 Advanced Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Merchandising, or an equivalent qualification, may be eligible for advanced standing in some subjects.

    Applicants with work and life experience
    Applicants without prior higher education or VET study, who are non-senior secondary applicants, may be eligible for admission if they can demonstrate their ability through previous study and/or a minimum of five years' work experience in the fashion/textiles industry or a related occupation.

    It is recommended that applicants have satisfactory numeracy and literacy skills to undertake this course. Applicants will attend an interview with staff members who consider previous levels of achievement, resumes, and employment records as indicators of aptitude and commitment to the study of fashion at the undergraduate level.

    The Certificate II in Applied Fashion Design and Technology is designed to develop foundational knowledge and skills to understand the design process, from concept to production, in a fashion industry context.

    Entry Requirements

    Learners must be enrolled as a VCE or VCAL learner at a Victorian Secondary School. Secondary schools are responsible for allocating students, who will need to meet LLN requirements of the course.

    Learners should discuss their VET course selection and application with their school careers adviser and leadership team prior to enrolling to ensure they have selected the right VETDSS discipline.

    Entry Requirements

    Minimum age requirement 17 year and older and must have completed year 11.

    Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and attend a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan and identify any learning support needs.
