CMU-A Academic Merit Scholarships

This scholarship is offered by the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences.

<ul><li>is enrolled in an undergraduate program in the School of Art in the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences</li>
<li>is working in any area of visual arts, design arts or digital arts</li>
<li>has received a letter of confirmation of acceptance by the overseas exchange institution.</li>
</ul>How to apply
Applicants are only eligible to apply in the semester prior to their intended departure overseas. All documentation must be forwarded to the Student Administrator.

Westende Travelling Scholarship

Overview
The Wanda Henry Scholarship in Photonics is designed to assist undergraduate students in their study of photonics. It is available to second-year students enrolled in 24 units per semester of physics (PHYS) and/or engineering (ENGN).

To be eligible for consideration applicants must:

The value of the scholarship is $5,000 and will be paid over a period of two years in two equal installments at the end of each academic year in the second and third years of the undergraduate degree program.

Wanda Henry Scholarship in Photonics

Overview
To acknowledge the University's relationship with the Canberra diplomatic community a scholarship has been established that provides a tuition fee concession to accredited diplomats and their immediate family.
Eligibility
The Scholarship shall be available for award to a student who is:
<ul><li>an accredited member of the Diplomatic Corps in Australia holding a 995 visa and resident in Canberra or immediate local areas; or</li>
<li>the legal or defacto partner/spouse of an accredited member of the Diplomatic Corps in Australia; or</li>
<li>the child (including stepchild, adopted child or foster child) of an accredited member of the Diplomatic Corps in Australia; and</li>
<li>enrolled, or will be enrolled in their first undergraduate coursework program at the University.</li>
</ul>How to apply
Applications should be submitted to the Registrar, Student Administration prior to the first day of the semester in which the scholarship is sought.
Further information
The tuition fee concession will continue for the duration of the student's undergraduate degree while they continue to meet the eligibility requirements.

Vice-Chancellor's Undergraduate Scholarship for the Diplomatic Corps in Australia

SurveyingSA consists of representatives from the Surveyors Board of South Australia (SBSA), Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI), SSSI Young Professionals and the University of South Australia (UniSA). SurveyingSA has the aims of increasing the number of Licensed Surveyors in South Australia, promoting the profession and ensuring the continuity of surveying tertiary studies in the State.

The Brenton J Burford Scholarship has been established by SurveyingSA to recognise the long-standing and invaluable contribution of Mr Brenton J Burford to the profession of surveying in South Australia and Australia. Mr Burford lectured in the application of mathematics to surveying and geodosy at the South Australian Institute of Technology (now UniSA) and as a result trained many of the professional surveyors currently working within South Australia. He is remembered by these surveyors as a brilliant lecturer who challenged his students but always remained approachable. He continued his development and promotion of the profession in subsequent roles as a professional surveyor, office bearer in the Institution of Surveyors, Australia (SA Divisional President 1982-83, Federal President 1991-92) and chairman of the Surveyors Board of South Australia (1987-89). As a result of this service he was awarded the 1992 Institution of Surveyors, Australia, JB &amp; JW Calder Award for his outstanding contributions to the surveying profession. He was also instrumental in the instigation of the current partnership between UniSA, the Surveyors Board of SA and the State Government that re-established the undergraduate and graduate programs in Surveying in South Australia. His legacy is one of service and commitment to the profession.

The Brenton J Burford Scholarship will be awarded annually to a student who has completed the Bachelor of Geospatial Science and is undertaking the Master of Surveying at the University of South Australia. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who has been deemed by the Selection Panel to be the most deserving recipient based upon them showing the qualities of: demonstrated aptitude for surveying, diligence to their studies with a demonstrated strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the learning environment in the classroom and field.

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

<ul>
	<li>Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.</li>
	<li>Be enrolled fulltime in the first year of the Master of Surveying (IMSY).</li>
	<li>Have completed the Bachelor of Geospatial Science (LBSP) with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.5 or above.</li>
	<li>Be willing to act as a positive ambassador for UniSA.</li>
</ul>

Applicants will be required to submit:

<ul>
	<li>An online application.</li>
	<li>A 300-word written statement outlining reasons for applying and past surveying experience.</li>
	<li>An unofficial transcript showing previous grades and GPA, and a current curriculum vitae.</li>
	<li>Attend an interview.</li>
</ul>

Value:&nbsp;$2,000. The scholarship will be paid in two installments immediately after the SP2 and SP5 census dates in the first year of the student,s Master of Surveying program.

Brenton J Burford Scholarship

The&nbsp;Commonwealth Scholarships Program&nbsp;is funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Education and Training.

It aims to assist Indigenous students experiencing financial need, particularly those from remote and regional areas. Commonwealth Scholarships are available through all Australian universities.&nbsp;

There are five different types of Commonwealth Scholarships:

<ol start="1">
	<li>Commonwealth Education Costs (CECS)-Indigenous (CECS-Indigenous) provide students with $2,755 a year for up to four years to assist with general study costs.</li>
	<li>Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship (CAS)-Indigenous (CAS-Indigenous) provide students who have&nbsp;moved from regional or remote areas to undertake their university studies with $5,512 a year for up to four years to assist with accommodation and study costs.</li>
	<li>Commonwealth Education Costs (CECS)-Indigenous Enabling (CECS-Indigenous Enabling) provides $2,755 a year for up to one year to assist with the costs of studying an eligible enabling course.</li>
	<li>Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship (CAS)-Indigenous Enabling (CAS-Indigenous Enabling) provides $5,512 a year for up to one year to assist with the costs of rural / remote students who must relocate to access an eligible enabling course.</li>
	<li>Commonwealth Education Costs Postgraduate Scholarship (CECS-PG) provide students with $2,755 a year for up to three years to assist with general study costs.</li>
</ol>

A student may NOT concurrently hold an CECS-Indigenous and an CECS-Indigenous Enabling

Commonwealth scholarships

Established in 2016, the Sydney School of Veterinary Science Student Mobility Scholarships were created to provide students in the Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees the opportunity to travel abroad and gain international experience or to support travel to rural or remote locations.

Open to:&nbsp;

Open to continuing local or international students&nbsp;in the&nbsp;Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine&nbsp;enrolled&nbsp;full-time or part-time; that are&nbsp;undertaking an international or rural placement/internship.

Value: $1,000

Duration: One-off payment.

Veterinary Science Student Mobility Scholarships

Overview

Each year the Research School of Earth Sciences (RSES) may offer one or more awards known as the Earth Sciences Opportunity Scholarship ("the award").

The objective of the award is to provide financial assistance to students enrolled in an Earth Sciences degree program to allow them to commence, continue and/or complete their studies.

Funding for this award has been provided by various donors. 

Value and Duration

Variable. The value of the award is stated in the letter of offer.&nbsp; The duration of the award will be up to one year in the first instance but may be extended on review. The award will be paid in equal instalments at the beginning of each semester. The value of the instalments and the duration of the payment plan will be detailed in the letter of offer and will be tailored to the needs of the recipient.

Eligibility

The award is available each year to prospective or current ANU students who:

<ul>
	<li>are domestic or international students;&nbsp;&nbsp; </li>
	<li>are enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program offered by the Research School of Earth Sciences; and</li>
	<li>demonstrate difficulties which require financial assistance to commence, continue and/or complete their studies. Difficulties may include but are not limited to, financial stress, remote location, family issues, mental health issues, disability or extended illness. </li>
</ul>

Students are permitted to apply for and hold the award on more than one occasion.

Benefits

The recipient is responsible for making payment of all tuition fees by the prescribed date as set out by the University.&nbsp; Recipients of this award are responsible for the costs of books, study materials, accommodation and all other costs of study.

Applications for commencing students are called for with a closing date as set by the Research School of Earth Sciences and advertised on the ANU scholarships website.&nbsp; Continuing students may apply at any time. The application should be forwarded to the Research School of Earth Sciences by email (see section 16 - conditions of the award) prior to the closing date (for commencing students).

RSES Opportunity Scholarship

The Three Rivers University Department of Rural Health is part of the Charles Sturt University and aims to improve the recruitment and retention of nursing, midwifery, allied health, dentistry and oral health professionals across the Albury, Dubbo, Griffith, Orange and Wagga Wagga regions. We are funded under the Australian Government's Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training (RHMT) Program. Our Placement Grants assist eligible students travelling away from home for clinical placements within our rural footprint.

Three Rivers University Department of Rural Health Placement Grant

Our scholarships are funded by donations from the Australian Government Department of Veterans’ Affairs, ex-service organisations, corporate sponsors&nbsp;and private individuals. The scholarships are worth between $3000 and $5000 per year and may continue for up to four years.

To be eligible to apply for AVCAT scholarship you must:

<ul>
	<li>have Australian residency</li>
	<li>be the child or grandchild as defined by AVCAT's&nbsp;Constitution&nbsp;(to include adopted children, ex-nuptial children, and step-children). The veteran must be an Australian Veteran with operational service, including eligible war service, warlike service, and peacekeeping/peacemaking service, OR have three or more years of continuous full-time service in the Australian Defence Force. (You can search the&nbsp;Nominal Rolls&nbsp;for service documents)</li>
	<li>be planning to enrol or be enrolled in&nbsp;tertiary education in Australia at an Australian university, TAFE or registered training organisation in 2019</li>
	<li>be studying or planning to study full-time on-line or face-to-face</li>
	<li>be receiving, or be&nbsp;eligible to receive, Centrelink Youth Allowance or an equivalent educational payment (use the&nbsp;Centrelink calculator&nbsp;to check your estimated entitlements)</li>
	<li>be under the age of 25 (except for exceptional circumstances)</li>
</ul>

Australian Veterans’ Children Assistance Trust Scholarship

The Brazilian Government has launched&nbsp;PRINT (Program ofInternationalisation), with $100 million in scholarship grants commencing in 2019 for the next 4 years.

The grants will support any level of study but preference will be given to higher degree by research students. Priority areas are energy, health, and water management (but the funding will support all fields of study).

Brazil Scholarship - PRINT (Program of Internationalism)

Donor: The late Dr Denise Anne O'Hara MBBS (1973), PhD (2008), was a fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine.  She commenced her career in the Health Commission of Victoria in 1987 as part of the Drugs of Dependence Unit and was well known through her work on primary health, public health and inter-governmental work.

Donor: The late Mrs Joan Margaret Dickson bequethed $60,000 as a tribute to the work done by Dr Hector Maclean during the years he was resident in Melbourne.
