Australia Awards Scholarship (AAS) is funded by&nbsp;Australian Government to provide higher education opportunities for people from developing countries to study in Australia to build the skills and knowledge to drive change as the next generation of global leaders.&nbsp;These scholarships aim to contribute to the development needs of Australia's partner countries in line with bilateral and regional agreements.&nbsp;Scholarships are mainly at the postgraduate level however there is a limited number of undergraduate scholarships (country-specific). &nbsp;

Curtin will work with AAS recipients to equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to drive change and contribute to the economic and social development in their home country and build enduring connections within the community

AAS are offered for the minimum period necessary for the individual to complete the academic program specified by the Australian higher education institution, including any preparatory training. The following benefits generally apply:

<ul>
	<li>Full tuition fees.</li>
	<li>Return air travel—payment of a single return, economy class airfare to and from Australia, via the most direct route.</li>
	<li>Establishment allowance—a once-only payment of AUD$ 5,000 as a contribution towards as accommodation expenses, textbooks, and study materials.</li>
	<li>Contribution to Living Expenses (CLE) is a fortnightly contribution to basic living expenses paid at a rate determined by the Australian Government.&nbsp;From 1 January 2015, CLE payable to Scholars studying under an&nbsp;AAS is AUD$30,000 per year.</li>
	<li>Introductory Academic Program (IAP)—a compulsory 4-6 week program prior to the commencement of formal academic studies covering information on life and study in Australia.</li>
	<li>Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of the award (for award holder only)—provided to cover the student's basic medical costs (with the exception of pre-existing conditions).</li>
	<li>Pre-course English (PCE) fees—if deemed necessary PCE may be available for students for in-country and/or in-Australia training.</li>
	<li>Supplementary Academic Support may be available to ensure a Scholar's academic success or enhance their academic experience.</li>
	<li>Fieldwork (for research students only)—may be available for eligible research students for&nbsp;one&nbsp;return economy class airfare via the most direct route to their country of citizenship or within Australia.</li>

Overview

The Science PhB(Hons) Relocation Scholarship is offered for one year only to assist new first year PhB(Hons) Science students in relocation costs to support their moving to Canberra. This scholarship is not available to students who&nbsp;reside in the ACT region prior to commencement of their PhB(Hons) studies. Funded by the Joint Colleges of Science, scholarship funding is provided in two instalments throughout the year.

Eligibility

Selection is based primarily on academic merit and financial need, however personal statements and references provided in the PhB(Hons) Application are also taken into account.&nbsp; Available to domestic and international students.&nbsp; An ATAR of 99 or higher is required.&nbsp; Students receiving an alternative ANU Academic&nbsp;Scholarship (e.g. NUS or NMS) are not eligible for this Relocation Scholarship.

How to apply

All students admitted to the PhB(Hons) program in Science will be&nbsp;automatically&nbsp;considered. Applicants can provide an expression of interest addressing the selection criteria of merit and financial&nbsp;need (including remote location).&nbsp; Deadline is the commencement of the&nbsp;Academic Program (semester 1 or semester 2), however&nbsp;scholarship offers will commence from the release of year 12 results.

Alternatively, if you have completed a Kaplan Business School Diploma, Graduate Certificate, or Graduate Diploma, you will be eligible for a 10% scholarship on future studies.
