Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) is the first and only chartered and autonomous university funded by a city government. It was created by the Congress of the Philippines by virtue of Republic Act No. 4196 or “An Act Authorizing the City of Manila to Establish and Operate the University of City of Manila” on June 19, 1965.

The university first opened its gates on July 17, 1967 to 556 first-year students at its campus in the historic Intramuros district, which served as the seat of power during the Spanish occupation. Currently, about 10,000 graduate and post-graduate students grace its halls to receive PLM’s quality education.

PLM is the first local government-funded tertiary institution that offered tuition-free education. PLM also carries the distinction of being the first tertiary institution to have a Filipino official name, which is why people use “Pamantasan” to refer to PLM. The word pamantasan was derived from the Filipino term “pantas” or wise person.

The university stands on historic grounds. On its site once stood the Universidad de San Ignacio (1590-1798), Universidad Maximo de San Ignacio, Colegio de San Jose, and Ateneo de Municipal de Manila (1865-1901).

PLM is a premiere university that has consistently garnered a 100% passing rate in licensure exams. Since 1967, it has produced competent and socially responsible graduates who have contributed to nation-building.

The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila shall be guided by the values of academic excellence, integrity and social responsibility, and by the principles of Karunungan, Kaunlaran and Kadakilaan.

Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) has become one of the most respected and admired educational institutions in the country today, offering various Bachelors Degree Programs both in the field of paramedical such as Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Medical Laboratory Science, Physical Therapy, among others and non-paramedical programs such as Hotel and Restaurant Management, Maritime Education, Computer Studies, Business and Accountancy to mention a few. New Era University&nbsp;(NEU) is a private educational institution in the&nbsp;Philippines, run by the&nbsp;Iglesia ni Cristo&nbsp;(INC). Although it is associated with the INC, it claims to be a non-sectarian university. Its main campus is at&nbsp;New Era, Quezon City, within the Central Office Complex of the INC. New Era University

Miriam College is a premier women’s Catholic educational institution founded by the Maryknoll Sisters of New York in 1926. It offers academic programs at the basic and tertiary levels at its main Quezon City campus. Its growing MC Nuvali branch in the province of Laguna currently offers basic education to boys and girls while its third campus in Porac, Pampanga is underway.

Across all units, the school continues to uphold excellent educational standards through regular curriculum and program enhancement, formation of strategic international and local links, maintenance of a competent faculty base, and intensified teaching and learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) to prepare students, especially girls and young women, in these fields of the future. Miriam College

The Philippine Christian University (PCU) is&nbsp;a private, Protestant coeducational basic and higher education institution located in Ermita, Manila, Philippines. It was founded in 1946 through the initiatives of the laymen of the Evangelical Association of the Philippines.

PCU is one of the two major mainline protestant universities at the heart of Metro Manila.&nbsp;t is also a member institution of&nbsp;Association of Christian Schools, Colleges and Universities&nbsp;(ACSCU).

The university maintains a satellite campus in&nbsp;Iloilo City&nbsp;through a partnership with the St. Roberts International Academy.

Philippine Christian University

The Mindanao State University was officially created by law, by virtue of Republic Act 1387 (as amended). It is the first state university in the southern part of the Philippines, in Mindanao, and second to the University of the Philippines being the first and premiere state sponsored institution of higher education in the country. The MSU was formally established on September 1, 1961 in Marawi City, the capital of Lanao del Sur, which was prominently claimed to be the heart of Morolandia owning to the city being the site of the reference point of all roads in Mindanao.

Today, MSU has various units in strategic areas which cut across the Mindanao regions. From a one campus university in Marawi City. MSU has grown to a multi-campus university of eight autonomous campuses, which include:&nbsp;MSU-Main in Marawi City, MSU-IIT in Iligan City, MSU-TCTO in Tawi-Tawi, MSU-Naawan in Misamis Oriental, MSU-Maguindanao, MSU-General Santos, MSU-Sulu in Jolo&nbsp;and&nbsp;MSU Buug in Zamboanga Sibugay.

In addition, three (3) former CHED- Supervised Institutions (CSIS) of higher learning are now considered integrated campuses into the MSU System, namely:&nbsp;Lanao National College of Arts and Trade (LNCAT), Lanao Norte Agricultural College (LNAC)&nbsp;and&nbsp;Maigo School of Arts and Trade (MSAT).

Mindanao State University

Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology is dedicated to academic excellence with a commitment for the holistic development of the individual and the society. Founded in 1968 under the provision of Republic Act (RA) 5363, MSU-IIT is known for its excellence in science and technology and its passion for extensive research and community involvement.
