The University of Mindanao (UM), then the Mindanao Colleges (MC), was opened in Davao City to the public in July 1946. It was the first school to offer tertiary education in Southern Mindanao primarily to provide learning opportunities to the indigenous natives and pioneers of Mindanao. It is hoped that their children shall attain college education which was then a luxury that only few elite families could afford.

The University of St. La Salle is an autonomous higher education institution recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) –a distinction held since 2001; and inline with our commitment in providing quality education and academic excellence, our academic programs have been submitted for external assessment, evaluation, and validation by notable private and public agencies. To date, the College of Business and Accountancy, College of Arts and Science, and College of Education, has been granted Level IV accreditation by PAASCU, the highest accreditation level for undergraduate programs.

Liceo–De La Salle Senior High School -&nbsp;The Liceo–De La Salle Senior High School is located within the USLS La Salle Avenue (main) campus and offers grades 11 and 12. The senior high school program started in 2016 in compliance with the K-12 program of the national government

Integrated School Campuses -&nbsp;The university allotted PHP200 million for the construction of a new campus for the Integrated School in Brgy. Mandalagan with lot donated by the Alunan family.<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_St._La_Salle#cite_note-5">[5]</a>&nbsp;The original Integrated School in the Montelibano campus, which had about 2,000 I.S. students, was already congested. The new campus features two four-storey buildings and can accommodate up to 4,000 students. Construction of the first phase was completed in 2015.

The University of St. La Salle, a non-stock and non-profit corporation, was established in 1952 by three American Brothers under the Philippine Province of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, an international institute of religious Brothers dedicated to the human and Christian education of the young, especially the poor.

Baguio Colleges, as the University of the Cordilleras was earlier known, pioneered in tertiary education in the mountain highlands of the Cordillera region amidst devastation in and around Baguio City after the Second World War.

Today, the University of the Cordilleras caters to more than 18,000 students coming from the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Regions I and II, neighboring provinces of Luzon. In addition, UC has the largest population of international students among HEIs in Baguio City represented by 37 nationalities.
