As a BEP student, you'll be taught by leading academics and industry experts who are at the forefront of the latest research and innovation in climate change adaptation, sustainable housing, water management, Maori resource management and biodiversity conservation.
Their expertise will provide you with a solid foundation in professional planning skills and a specialist degree accredited by the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI). With close connections to the wider Waikato region and its wealth of natural resources, our environmental planning programme provides a core foundation and a choice of specialised streams to shape your future career.
This four-year degree is divided into three streams:The degree brings together papers from subjects including Environmental Planning, Biology, Economics, Maori and Indigenous Studies, Public Policy, Political Science and Geography.
Our Bachelor of Environmental Planning is accredited by the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI).
The BEP provides you with practical, industry experience gained across labs, workshops and field trips. You'll also benefit from guest lecturers and practical activities, and will attend industry-focused events such as resource management hearings, urban design evaluations and environmental impact assessment workshops.
