Entry requirements

To be eligible to receive an offer applicants will have

  • Completed nationally accredited health professional degree, at AQF7 including medicine, nursing and paramedicine, from an Australian higher education provider or equivalent overseas qualification,
  • AND at least 2 years of health professional experience
  • AND some professional or life experience in a remote / extreme environment as specified by the College of Health and Medicine

OR

  • Completed nationally accredited health professional degree at AQF7 (other than medicine, nursing or paramedicine), including exercise science, dentistry or physiotherapy
  • AND at least 2 years remote clinical experience as specified by the College of Health and Medicine

OR

  • Completed the Graduate Diploma of Healthcare in Extreme Environments

  • 1 Assess, analyse and apply an approach to the planning, organisation and delivery of healthcare in remote and extreme environments
  • 2 Integrate specialised knowledge and skills relevant to extreme environments in to their clinical practice
  • 3 Evaluate and apply a range of non-medical skills essential for thriving and operating in extreme environments
  • 4 Synthesise and communicate novel solutions to emergency situations in an extended range of remote and extreme environments
  • 5 Critically analyse practice-based research and evaluation relevant to enhancing healthcare in remote and extreme environments, and design, implement and evaluate service improvements
  • Credit for prior study or work
