Diploma
This program is only available to candidates who have received a Certificate of Professional Suitability from an Australian policing service after completion of all recruitment tests and examinations
Policing does not abide by professional accreditation such as Social Work. There is however, a stringent police recruitment process which leads to a community member to be 'accredited to become a police officer' (meaning: meets the requirements to enroll in a police college and academy). This is prior to any educational/training component. Professional standards and expectations are governed by professional bodies such as ANZPAA.

The Diploma of Social Sciences (Policing Practices) requires the completion of 100 credit points of Core units.
Police officers seeking to transfer from other Australian policing jurisdictions may be granted advanced standing and/or recognition for prior learning for units in the Diploma and will be required to complete some learning that is specific to the jurisdictional context (for example, law).
