Domestic applicants who have recently completed secondary education (in the past two years)

This course is not available to students who have recently completed secondary education.

Domestic applicants with higher education study

To be eligible for an offer, you must:

have completed a course at Diploma level or higher at any Australian higher education provider (or an equivalent overseas qualification) in your intended teaching area; and
have at least four years of industry experience in your intended teaching area

Domestic applicants with VET / TAFE study

To be eligible for an offer, you must

have completed a Trade Certificate (Certificate III), AQF Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or an equivalent qualification) in your intended teaching area; and
have at least four years of industry experience in your intended teaching area.

Domestic applicants with work and life experience

This course is not available to students who apply based on work and life experience

Career pathways

Graduates of the Bachelor of Adult and Applied Learning will have a range of specialised and transferable skills that are highly valued by a diverse range of organisations and workplaces, including:

TAFEs
VET-in-School programs
Defence, Police & Emergency Service training academies
Private or Enterprise Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)

They also will be well positioned to fulfill roles within Human Resource and Development (HRD) where the professional development of staff is a key function.

Course structure

The Bachelor of Adult and Applied Learning requires the completion of 300 credit points of Core units.

Credit for prior study or work

Students admitted to the course will receive 100 credit points, on the basis of prior learning and professional experience, equating to two 50 credit points Introductory units:

EAL100 - Professional Knowledge and Skills
EAL111 - Applied Professional Knowledge and Skills
