About this course

A non-degree course allows you to undertake undergraduate level study, for the purpose of continuing professional development or simply for interest. You will not accrue credit points towards a degree award, but you will be issued with a transcript outlining the units of study that you have undertaken.

If you wish to undertake one or more units of study for your own interest, or for other reasons, you may enrol in single units as a non-award student. Admission as a non-award student is assessed on an individual basis. Non-degree students pay full tuition fees to undertake a unit of study (subject) offered in the Faculty of Science without being enrolled in an award course (degree).

If you would like to apply for non-degree study, you should consult the Faculty of Science Handbook or Departmental/School websites to identify units of study in which you would like to enrol at the University of Sydney.

Entry requirements

You need to be able to meet the same prerequisites as students enrolled in an award course at the University of Sydney (or have completed equivalent units of study at another institution) to be able to enrol in any particular unit of study.

The academic requirements that are displayed are applicable to currently available courses only, and are updated annually in October and may be changed without notice. The Handbooks Online and the University of Sydney Calendar are the official legal source of information relating to study at the University of Sydney, and you are referred to those documents.
