About this course

Develop advanced knowledge, skills and understanding in business management, marketing and human resource management to enhance your employability and career progression. This flexible, practitioner-focused programme is designed for new or recent graduates from any field. It will equip you with the capabilities to enter or progress business management careers in local and international business. A 120-point fast-track option is available to graduates with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree or a Postgraduate Diploma in Business from the University of Auckland. A choice of three specialisations will develop capabilities that will enable you to apply analytical and solution-seeking skills to organisational challenges: Courses are scheduled in the evenings and within quarter-based teaching term dates to provide flexibility for working professionals. This programme is open to domestic students only.

Course structure

The MBM comprises three parts. Part I: 60 points of core courses, Part II: 60 points of courses in a chosen specialisation, Part III: two 15 point courses and a 30-point capstone project. In Part III students will be expected to demonstrate that they have an advanced and integrated understanding of a complex body of knowledge and have the ability to apply this independently in a range of professional practice contexts.

A student will not normally be permitted to enrol for Part III unless Part II has been completed with a Grade Point Average of 4.0 or higher. If this Grade Point Average is not achieved, enrolment in the Master of Business Management cannot continue.
