Ecotourism, a blend of science and tourism, draws together aspects of biology, geology and ecology for students to understand and be able to communicate the science underpinning tourists' experience of our natural world.

The postgraduate program in ecotourism is the most comprehensive science-based ecotourism program in Australia, and has been designed to meet a pressing industry need for ecotourism nationally and internationally. Students have the opportunity to specialise in geotourism or nature-based tourism, and may choose from a range of electives to further broaden their knowledge. Elective choices in law, wine science, marketing and entrepreneurship will help students become industry-ready for a career in ecotourism both within Australia and internationally.

There is a strong research component within this program, as well as a number of community, government and industry events where students will gain a direct appreciation for the number of graduate career opportunities available within this sector.
