Do you work in hospitality? Further your career by learning skills that will enable you to move into a leadership or management role.

Training for management roles across many hospitality settings, this course offers a mix of learning and practical skills with a focus on management within the front of house.

The course will develop your management and human resources skills so you can coordinate a range of hospitality operations and make business decisions.

You will be equipped for autonomous roles and roles where you may have responsibility for managing others.

This course provides training on managing diversity in the workplace, managing operational plans, leading and managing people and conflict, developing customer service practices, monitoring work operations and conducting business relationships.

This qualification reflects the role of skilled senior staff who use a broad range of skills and sound knowledge of industry to coordinate hospitality operations.

Delivery is a combination of online, on-campus and workplace training over a period of nine months.

Entry requirements

To meet academic requirements for Diploma or Advanced Diploma courses, you need to successfully complete any TasTAFE course entry procedures and you also need to:

  • Have completed year 12 and provide TasTAFE with a copy of your Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education awarded to you by an agency or authority of a State or Territory; OR,

  • Provide TasTAFE with a copy of a qualification at Level 4 or above in the Australian Qualifications Framework that was awarded to you. This qualification must have been delivered in English; OR,

  • Complete an approved language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) assessment and display competence at or above Exit Level 3 in the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) in both literacy and numeracy.
