Designed for people with an intellectual disability or cognitive impairment, this free Work Education program focuses on providing you with the work readiness skills you'll need to be prepared for employment.
In this course, you will be supported to develop an individual vocational learning plan and identify the skills you need to prepare for employment, as well as gain a basic understanding of the expectations of a workplace and your role as an employee.
You'll develop personal management skills and interpersonal communication skills, and also learn how to contribute to health and safety of self and others in a workplace context - skills that are highly valued by employers at any workplace.
You'll also have the opportunity to participate in a range of vocational activities, conduct a personal project, learn how to complete forms, engage in community activities and participate in a practical work placement with support.
On successful completion of this course, you will have developed a range of practical skills that will help you to be successful at work, and/or seek employment for the first time. You will also receive a Statement of Attainment for the units completed.
