The Graduate Diploma of Aviation (Human Factors) provides the advanced knowledge and skills for aviation professionals undertaking operational roles within a Safety Management system. The course provides students with the advanced knowledge necessary to deliver human factors programs within the aviation industry. The course, primarily, is designed to meet the needs of personnel currently involved in the aviation industry who wish to upgrade their skills at tertiary level in the advanced area of human factors.
 
In addition, the course has application for personnel in other technologically based industries including rail, shipping, medical, heavy industry, the chemical industry and energy production.

Course structure

To qualify for the Graduate Diploma of Aviation (Human Factors), students must complete 8 units (100 credit points):

  • 4 core units (50 credit points)
  • At least 2 discipline units (25 credit points)
  • Maximum 2 elective units (25 credit points)

Credit for prior study or work

Credit is granted in recognition of previous study and/or experience and allows students to gain advanced standing towards their course. Applicants are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
