The Bachelor of Business equips students with the core knowledge and skills essential to business management and operations operate in the twenty first century. Choose from a range of business majors which include:

Accounting, Accounting and Finance, Accounting and Financial Planning, Business Administration, Finance, Financial Planning, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Management, Marketing, and Sports Management.
 
These majors may be supplemented by a broad range of other studies. In the final year, students synthesise their learning through three integrated, multidisciplinary final year units. This ensures that graduates are entrepreneurial thinkers, armed with theoretical and practical knowledge required to operate effectively in diverse settings such as not-for-profits, government, small businesses and corporate organisations. Career opportunities are extremely broad and range from business administration through to organisational management.

The intent of the course is for graduates to have well-developed attributes which will equip them for their early career and life. Specifically graduates will potentially be:

  • capable in their chosen professional, vocational or study areas
  • entrepreneurial in contributing to innovation and development within their business, workplace, or community
  • effective and ethical in work and community situations
  • adaptable and able to manage change
  • aware of the local and international environments in which they will be contributing to (e.g. socio-cultural, economic, natural).

Course structure

To qualify for the award of Bachelor of Business, students must complete 300 credit points comprising of 24 units:

  • 8 prescribed Bachelor of Business core units (100 credit points)
  • 8 units of study from a business discipline major in one of the following: Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Financial Planning, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Management, Marketing or Sports Management (100 credit points)
  • 8 units of secondary studies (100 credit points) comprising of a second major, minor/s, or electives
  • or 16 units for the Accounting and Financial Planning major or the Accounting and Finance major (200 credit points) - students undertaking these two majors will not need to undertake secondary studies.

Students complete no more than 150 credit points (normally 12 units) at Introductory Level (eg: BUS1XXXX). A unit of study can only be counted once. Where units are shared between majors and/or minors, students must choose an approved alternative unit.Maximum Academic CreditThe maximum level of credit that can be granted for the Bachelor of Business is 200 credit points (normally 16 units)

Credit for prior study or work
