Each applicant will be required to undertake a Pre-training Review before enrolling to help confirm if the proposed course is suitable. It will provide valuable information about skills, knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and employment goals. Applicants must be willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check prior to practical placement and are responsible for all costs associated. Applicants must also be willing to provide proof of their up-to-date immunisation status for Covid-19 and influenza to employers to undertake practical placement if requested. Trainees must have a registered training contract agreement with their employer. Applicants may be required to provide a Working with Children Check to undertake practical placement, if requested, and would be responsible for associated costs.
Mental Health support workers can perform the duties of Alcohol and Other Drugs and Mental Health in any community settings with the guidance of a senior practitioner e.g., Allied Health Community Service Worker, Social Worker, Psychologist, and or Occupational Therapist. Mental Health support workers can perform duties, but are not limited to the below settings: Aged-care facilities, Disability facilities, Schools and Community Health centres.
