The Diploma of Process Plant Technology is aimed at both professionals with experience working in the oil and gas and process plant technology industry looking to advance their career, and students without industry experience who would like a university qualification in engineering.

It is a technical qualification for technologists or para-professionals who undertake projects such as plant modifications, energy and mass balances, risk management & safety cases either individually, or as part of a project team. They may have worked their way up through the process plant operation/technology certificate or may have entered the industry at this level, either from another industry or trade occupation.
