When you complete the Certificate IV in Sterilisation Services you will be better equipped in the management of a sterilisation department.

This course covers a range of varied activities performed in a sterilising service or department and is for managers and supervisors working in a sterilising department.

Entry requirements

School Leaver Non-School Leaver AQF
C Grades in Year 11 WACE General English, and OLNA; or NAPLAN 9 Band 8 C Grades in Year 11 English and Maths or equivalent Certificate II or Certificate III


Prospective students must be currently (and have been) working in a sterilising department for a minimum of two years.

There is no arranged work placement for this qualification. Students complete written assessments and submit online using theory downloaded from our online study portal, Blackboard. A workplace competency manual will be required to be completed during the year-long course.

Due dates will be assigned for units contained within 4 clusters, with half of the unit assessments due in the first half of the course.
