To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
Students must also be employed as a trainee in a suitable workplace and have a current delta number.
Holmesglen workplace assessors will undertake an inspection of the workplace to ensure the facilities and equipment are suitable and at an industry standard to provide the required training as per the training package.
The course is taught through practical workplace training.
Students will use current industry tools, equipment, documents and other resources which play an essential role in skills development to produce graduates that are industry-ready.
Through practical restaurant sessions, you will learn to work with independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities. You will graduate with a range of well-developed hospitality skills such as coffee making, customer service, food and beverage service, bar attending and hygiene and safety. These skills are highly sought-after by industry and will position you to step directly into employment.

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
