Certificate
This Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance gives secondary school students a chance to commence their studies as an allied health assistant. Allied health assistants increasingly play an important role in the rehabilitation of clients.
To do this course, students must be enrolled as a VCE or VCE (VM) student.
Prior to enrolment, students will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment (BKSB test) and answer some course-specific, contextualised questions. This will help determine the prospective student's suitability to the course.
Students must have the:
interpersonal skills to interact with the public / clients / patients / superiors and other staff
physical ability to attend to clients / patients in a hospital, rehabilitation or community health setting
fine motor skills and physical dexterity required to assemble pieces of equipment, such as crutches
strength needed to move equipment such as a trolley, wheelchair or rehabilitation equipment.
