Certificate
If you have come from a non-English speaking background but have already started developing your English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, take them even further with the Certificate II in EAL (Access).
There are no formal entry requirements but you should be from a non-English speaking background and over 18 years old.
There are no prerequisite units.
Entry into the 22485VIC Certificate II in EAL (Access). will be determined according to a participant's
* current English language skills (an initial assessment is conducted)
* learning and pathway needs including employability skills, digital and other literacies and further educational and vocational training needs.

Applicants are placed in the appropriate English course based on an interview and English language assessment.
You'll cover areas such as conversations, giving and listening to spoken information and directions, reading and writing simple messages and stories, grammar and pronunciation, using technology to create documents, exploring services and current issues, and more. You will learn the skills required to use more complex sentences and phrases in a variety of settings.
This course is free for eligible Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) clients.
You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
